Meliá Hotels International is expecting to open 9 new hotels across China, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Indonesia in the APAC region in 2020 and 2021 offering honeymooners some stunning alternatives to it already popular collection of 13 worldwide locations.
Five years after the launch of its first Gran Meliá hotelin Xi'an, leading Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International will expand its Gran Meliábrand portfolio to Chengdu and Zhengzhou in China.
Gran Meliá Chengdu
Gran Meliá Chengdu will open to guests this autumn. Located in the new centre within the south of the city, the hotel will offer a unique location situated next to the Jincheng Lake. Comprising 265 bedrooms and suites in seven separate mansions, the hotel design takes inspiration from Chinese traditional Shu-Han culture, courtyard design of classical architecture,and is surrounded by green lush plants.
Epicureans will be able to enjoy a gastromonic experience at Gran Meliá Chengdu. The hotel will offer all-day Dining Restaurant Vista Café, Rong Palace Chinese Restaurant, Gran Via Spanish Restaurant, Flora Lobby Bar and El Patio Lounge. Banquet and conference spaces will include one grand ballroom, one multifunction hall, three VIP halls, and 12 conference rooms that merge both magnificence in space and majesty in ambiance.
The spa and fitness centre at the hotel will provide guests with the ultimate relaxation and comfort, with faciltiies to include an indoor swimming pool, with underfloor heating, and the latest fitness equipment.
Gran Meliá Zhengzhou
Over towards the north east of China, Gran Meliá Zhengzhou will showcase elegant Spanish design combined with the culture from the Central Plains. The first Spanish luxury hotel in the area, each of its 387 guest rooms and suites will incorporate artistic decors with Spanish flair with breathtaking views of the river and the city.
The hotel will house three distinct restaurants, a lobby lounge and a bar. Visitors may relax over afternoon tea at the lobby lounge, enjoy a wide array of local delicacies or international cuisine at Ebro All-Day Dining Restaurant, or taste the classics of Henan cuisines at the Jin YuYan Chinese Restaurant. Guests will be able to savor unique and genuine Iberian flavors at the Gran Via Spanish Restaurant, or indulge in the extensive and carefully curated list of drinks at the La Cava Bar.
The hotel's 24-hours fitness centre will include a steam room and sauna as well as a swimming pool, with a spa service to allow guests to experience an afternoon of relaxation. The hotel will include seven conference rooms, VIP lounges, and multifunction rooms of different sizes to fulfill the different requirements of conference and banquet business.
