Four poster beds in luxury suites in a 350-year old plantation house, a beautifully preserved sugar mill and 26 acres of tropical gardens with stunning sea views combine to make The Great House Antigua the perfect location for a honeymoon.
The Great House Antigua is a former family home that's been converted into an adult only boutique hotel with just eight suites: four in the main Great House and four in new traditional style cottages in the gardens. Each suite is individually styled and furnished with antiques such as a 19th century French metal four poster bed, king size mahogany four poster beds surrounded with silk netting, ornate chandeliers, china and glassware. The suites also have balconies or terraces for relaxing and enjoy garden views.
All meals are included in the cost of any stay with breakfast and lunch served outdoors in a canopied courtyard while candlelit dinners are enjoyed in the Great House dining room. Many of the fresh ingredients are grown on site while the rest are sourced daily by the chef from local markets. The extensive gardens afford views down to the sea and there is a swimming pool with a bar serving fruit juices during the day. The sugar mill towers over the gardens and a deck by the mill is the setting for daily exercise classes or can be used for quiet meditation.
An on-site spa, complete with a couple's treatment room, offers a full range of treatments including massages, scrubs, facials, manicures and pedicures.
The honeymoon package includes a wellness class per day, 4 nights' accommodation on a full board basis, soft drinks and VIP airport transfers. For more information visit www.thegreathouseantigua.com
