Laura and Tom met through mutual friends. “We were set up on a date,” says Laura. “I was a bit apprehensive at first, but it went really well. We bought our first house 18 months later and got engaged a year after that.” Tom popped the question during a holiday to Tenerife. “We talked about getting married, but I had no idea he was going to propose,” shares the bride. “The first night we got there, we went down to the beach and watched the sunset. He then got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! It was amazing, and I cried with happiness.”
Here she shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...
Our table plan and place names were created by Amanda Michelle Design & Stationery. I found her on Instagram and loved her work. She created a subtle grey watercolour design and hand-finished gold leaves, which looked stunning
We wanted to create a romantic feel to our big day, so it was important we incorporated lots of flowers. We asked The Florist of Cardiff to make centrepieces in a variety of sizes to add some depth and interest to the room. The blooms included peonies, white hydrangeas, roses and trailing amaranthus sprayed gold.
Our favours were supplied by a confectionary company. We chose prosecco-flavoured lollipops, decorated with sugar petals and gold leaf
We decided on a four-tier bake created by DeVoli Cakes in Caerphilly. We'd seen some of Amy's work at a local wedding fair, and we knew right away we wanted her involved in our big day
During the drinks rreception, we had Dave from Icicle Tricycle Wales serve our guests ice cream on the balcony. Everyone loved it, and it made a great addition to our nuptials.
We felt a little nervous on the morning of the wedding, but once we'd said our vows, we were able to relax and enjoy the rest of the day. Everyone enjoyed themselves, and we wouldn't change a thing
