Laura and Thomas chose The Kingscote Barn for their wedding in the countryside with a grey and navy colour palette.

Laura and Thomas first met through friends and became engaged five years later in a surprise proposal in Palma, Majorca. “Tom asked me to marry him on the terrace in our hotel room, which was a total surprise!” Laura tells us.

The couple fell in love with their big-day setting at first sight. “We had four viewings at different barns booked over the course of a weekend and The Kingscote Barn was the first one that we saw,” Laura tells us. “We reserved a date there and then before viewing the remaining venues because we loved it so much!”

Here, she tells us more about their quintessential Cotswold wedding that had a grey and navy colour palette…

It was love at first sight with our venue!

Country charm: Image 2aWe gave our florist free reign with the brief for our blooms and they did a fantastic job using options in our chosen colour theme.

Country charm: Image 2 Our centrepieces were tall martini glass vases filled with flowers.

Our plants in hanging glass baubles looked so unusual and different.

Country charm: Image 4aWe had an elegant grey three-tiered cake with a marble effect. Each tier was a different flavour.

Country charm: Image 4 Our table names were numbers and Thomas' dad made us our hand-written place names.

We had a 'find your face, find your place' idea for our table plan.

Country charm: Image 6aThomas wore a navy suit with a grey waistcoat, claret-coloured tie and a pocket handkerchief.

Country charm: Image 6 My dress was by Modeca. I loved the fitted style of it and the detail down the back. I accessorised it with a pair of simple stud diamond earrings and a bracelet.

Our dimmable fairylights looked amazing in the main barn and bar area.

Country charm: Image 8aOur sparklers when down a storm!

Country charm: Image 8 We entertained our guests with a live band called The Chip Shop Boys who sung a mix of songs from the 1960s through to the present day. Everyone thought they were great and they kept the dancefloor full all night.

Our bridesmaids wore chic grey full-length pleated dresses.
