Lottie and Joe's London-based big day was a celebration of the city where they met.

Lottie Cresswell, 34, married Joe Frisina, 45, at Town Hall Hotel followed by a reception at The Gun on 7th May, 2016.

Having met while working at the Opening Ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games, Lottie and Joe's relationship is a true London love story. The pair went on their first date on the day of the Closing Ceremony, with Joe then escorting Lottie back to the Olympic Stadium where she was due to work. And, as they say, the rest is history, with Joe proposing to Lottie four years later while on holiday in Italy.

On their return, the couple, both event planners by trade, gave themselves a nine-month window to plan their big day, sharing the tasks equally in the most part. “We enjoyed organising our wedding,” says Lottie. “But as we do this for a job, it sometimes felt like work.”

Here, Lottie tells us more about their big day…

The Town Hall Hotel is such a beautiful venue – we knew it would be ideal for our civil ceremony.

On the river: Image 2aI wouldn't say I had a 'moment' when I tried on my dress for the first time but my mum cried, which is always a good sign.

On the river: Image 2 We'd been to lunch at The Gun in the past; we loved its relaxed, fun atmosphere.

My mum organised all of the fresh flowers, bringing them down from Lincolnshire in the car.

On the river: Image 4 We mixed antique silverware with flowers for chic and classic centrepieces.
