Catherine Brown, 24, married Matthew Bennett (Matt), 24, at New Barton Barns in Plymouth, Devon, on 30th July, 2016.
Our chair backs were hessian bows decorated with lavender.
To suit our vintage theme, we had afternoon tea as our meal choice. Our centrepieces were cake stands that were made from vintage plates that we'd collected ourselves.
Each table was named after a variety of gin and that particular type was provided for each table along with a delicious recipe that they could put together at the homemade bar.
We served gin with the afternoon tea instead of wine because we love it! Each guest had their own gin jar with their name chalked onto a small blackboard sticker.
My dress was a full-length lace style with cap sleeves and a small train. It was traditional with a vintage twist to tie in with our theme and I teamed this with a veil.
Underneath my dress I wore bright orange Converse trainers while my bridesmaids wore white high top Converse rolled down to reveal a paisley lining to match the groomsmen's bow ties.
We married in front of an altar in the middle of a field. It was handmade by the father-of-the-groom from reclaimed pallets and decorated with a beautiful flower arrangement. It framed the backdrop of the sea perfectly.
We decided on a mix of cupcakes and a decorated fruitcake topped with handmade sugar flowers. A slightly tiddly Matt knocked the cake over while trying to cut a slice out of it!
We'd written our own vows and one of our oldest friends carried out the ceremony for us. She made it personal, funny and heart-warming and had our guests both laughing and crying!
Before the afternoon tea, we provided Pimm's cocktails while a live musician played in the courtyard. The weather was beautiful and it got everyone singing!
