Nicola Bland (28) married Trevor Varian (35) at Islington Town Hall followed by a reception at Paternoster Chop House on 3rd September, 2016.
I was adamant that I wanted a two-piece but when we went to Morgan Davies Bridal, my mum picked up this backless gown and insisted I tried it on. When I looked in the mirror, I thought 'yep, this is my dress'.
We hired a Routemaster to transport guests between the ceremony and reception venues. The dad of one of my bridesmaids is a cabbie and surprised me with a white cab on the day, which was lovely.
We hired the billboard of the Everyman Screen on the Green cinema for some original Mr & Mrs shots. When our guests travelled past on the bus, they all saw the sign and us outside it.
I chose peonies, hydrangea, roses and gypsophila in shades of blush and cream for my bouquet and the table centrepieces. My bouquet was tied with rustic twine, which was also wrapped around bell jars for the reception arrangements.
Trevor loved searching for the perfect tailor to make his suit. I think he was more excited about this than the wedding!
For our favours, I sourced Alice in Wonderland-style shot bottles, which we filled with Tequila Rose and tied with a label saying, 'Take a shot, we've tied the knot'.
As our reception venue was a restaurant, we didn't need much in the way of décor.
We set up a guestbook table, and added flowers and polaroids to the tables.
