Emma and Colin met in typical fashion at work, and it wasn't long before romance blossomed. “I was having a bad day and I asked a friend for a hug but they turned to Colin and said, 'why don't you hug him?'” explains Emma. “I laughed, thinking: I can't hug him, he's too big and scary! Colin's broad and covered in tattoos and a second dan black belt in taekwondo. He looked over and said, 'Try it, you might like it.' So we hugged, and now we're married!”
Colin said that after six weeks of being together he wanted to marry Emma, and five and half years later he made it official. “I'm obsessed with Christmas, it's my favourite time of year,” says Emma. “We'd finished opening all of the presents at my parent's house, and while drinking plenty of champagne, Colin brings in a huge teddy bear holding a stocking. Inside the stocking is a beautiful engagement ring. He's down on one knee and asks me to be his wife! Best. Christmas. Ever.”
Here, Emma tells us more about their day…
Our favours were vintage tea cups and saucers for each guest with a handmade teabag.
Tea cups, saucers, teapots, milk jugs and votives filled with fresh British flowers in pinks and whites adorned each table.
The place names were cookies in the shapes of tea cups and saucers, and teapots with each guest's name on.
Yummy! We loved our four-tiered naked cake covered in berries and flowers.
There was personalised bunting, plenty of flags, and lots of candles incorporated into the styling.
We also had pictures of all of our grandparents who played a huge part in making who Dominic and I are today.
I wore a Sophia Toli Dress called Miri. It was stunning. I accessorised it with some gorgeous Rainbow shoes, Christina, that were dyed to match my bridesmaids – I also brought the matching bag by Emmy.
