Hannah and Alex met over brunch with mutual friends but, although they hit it off immediately, Hannah kyboshed any talk of romance at first. "I refused to consider the potential as Alex is seven years younger than me but his kind heart, charm and humour won me over a few months later," she admits.
And timing certainly wasn't everything when it came to the proposal either. "I proposed at a beautiful resort in Kefalonia, although it didn't quite go according to plan as the hotel sent champagne and rose petals at the wrong time. Luckily, it was still a surprise and Hannah burst into tears as I got down on one knee," Alex laughs.
On their return, the couple set a date for a year hence and started planning in earnest. "We wanted to get married in London as that's where we fell in love," Hannah reveals. Here, she tells us more about the big day...
Alex wore a suit from Ted Baker accessorised with a polka dot pocket square, braces and a blue tie.
My bridesmaids wore blush-pink, Grecian gowns from ASOS. However, the maid-of-honour's zip broke as she put it on and she had to be stitched into it, making the entire bridal party late for the ceremony.
I fell in love with this gown from Zavana bridal - I wanted to avoid the big, princess look.
In the evening, we served pork pie and cheese.
We put huge light-up letters on the dancefloor, spelling out the word 'dance' - our guests took it literally.
Our centrepieces were huge - tall vases filled with blush-pink blooms and foliage.
We had candles and fairylights everywhere.
We loved The Brewery's formal, yet casual vibe. The venue was really open to what we wanted and we'd heard amazing things about the food, of which, they 100 per cent delivered on the day.
Our nickname for each other is 'penguin' so we had a penguin motif on our stationery and named each table after a type of penguin
