I'm with the band

Eloise and Boyce wed on 1st September, 2018, surrounded by blues, greens and a hint of vintage.

Eloise met Ryan “Boyce” O'Sullivan through her older sister, who knew him through school and college. She'd take Eloise to watch his band play, “so I was a groupie from a young age,” says the bride. In fact, she still enjoys going along to see him in the same band but doesn't need to be dragged along by big sis anymore! The couple didn't know each other well as kids, so it wasn't until after university when Eloise had moved back home that they began to grow close. She says, “I've always been attracted to his kindness, positivity and hilarious sense of humour.”

The pair had been together for five-and-a-half years when Boyce popped the question following a Christmas break in Barcelona. Eloise told us, “He'd been ill for most of the trip, so I was past guessing if he would get down on one knee, when on the final night, he actually did… Magic!”

Here the bride shares more happy memories of their special day...

I'm with the band: Image 1 Selden Barns had it all for us: a little barn for the ceremony, an open all-in-one reception area and we both adored the surrounding grounds.

Boyce isn't fussy when it comes to designer clothes, so we went to Next. He chose a navy three-piece suit and tie.

I wore a vintage-style beaded dress. It was figure hugging with a low back and train. I originally saw the dress in a wedding magazine and cut it out to stick into my ideas book. Eventually I found it, and I fell in love as soon as I tried it on. The budget had to grow a little bit, but it was worth while!

Leaving the ceremony room and being alone with Boyce for the first time as husband and wife was amazing.

Having our own little bride and groom photo shoot gave us a chance to relax and have some fun with our photographer.

I'm with the band: Image 6 I made a map collage ona large wooden pallet, and my best friend helped me to write the seating plan, which we attached to it with twine.

Bright and wild-looking flowers were scattered around the venue. For centrepieces, I spray-painted large doilies with a gold shimmer and sat flowers in different-sized jars on top

My mum made a fake cake with lots of funny decorations that were special to us. We also had a large cake table with a number of glass stands holding a variety of delicious bakes.

I'm with the band: Image 8 Our table names were places we've visited together to complement the map favour boxes.

For favours, we gave our guests small map boxes containing heart chocolates and quotes about love.

Live band, Burning Organ, provided the evening's entertainment. They're a soul/pop ensemble we love going to see play locally.

I'm with the band: Image 10 Wood crates in different shades of green with strings of pearls draped over them decorated the venue.

I'm with the band: Image 11 We flew to Mauritius for three nights, then on to Madagascar for three-and-a-half weeks. We travelled around the country experiencing some amazing wildlife and landscapes. It wasn't a typical relaxing honeymoon, which is exactly what we planned.
