"I always use a second photographer and our role is to capture the emotions of the day – the smiles, the laughter and the happy tears. The best photographers can anticipate those moments. One of the ways we do this is to get to know the couple and their guests really well. It helps to relax people and they forget we are holding a camera, which means that we capture genuine happiness."

What's the one top tip you can share with readers when looking for a wedding photographer?
"Does your wedding photographer include a pre-wedding shoot as part of their package? I recommend having a pre-wedding shoot about four weeks prior to your wedding. We usually pop down to a local beach or woodland, spending an hour chatting and I will take a few photos. It is like a little trial run, so that on your wedding day it will feel a lot more relaxed and fun."
