The awards, which celebrate the best cosmetic products ‘free from’ some of the allergens and other ingredients many consumers now wish to or need to avoid, feature fifteen categories, including a new category for body oils, incorporating moisturising oils, massage oils and bath oils.
The awards pride themselves on being the most fair and rigorous of the cosmetics awards. “There's no voting, which unfairly favours brands with large social media following and marketing budgets,” says Alex Gazzola, awards administrator and co-director. “To decide the shortlist, all entries are first put through their paces by four testers for one month. Then, their feedback is combined with that of panels of independent expert judges, who sit for a week to debate and decide on final medallists and winners.”
