Whether it’s an intimate wedding, a large wedding reception or the civil wedding ceremony itself, the Swan Hotel prides itself on providing the perfect wedding venue in Somerset.

Civil wedding ceremonies are held in the delightful Garden Room. This light and airy room lends itself beautifully to civil wedding ceremonies and opens out onto a secluded Walled Garden.

The Ivory Suite, located on the ground floor, has its own reception and bar area and seats up to 90 guests for a wedding breakfast. Evening functions for up to 150 guests can be catered for by hiring the interconnecting Garden Room.

At the front of the hotel, Swan Terrace provides a unique opportunity to capture Wells Cathedral as a stunning backdrop for wedding photographs.

Do not miss our Luxurious Honeymoon Suite. The stunning Cathedral Suite offers unrivalled panoramic views of Wells Cathedral. The sumptuous and spacious bedroom, sitting room and bathroom are furnished with gilded French furniture, fabulous silk curtains and an eclectic mix of antiques. Guests can enjoy a complimentary bottle of Champagne, chocolates and fresh flowers in the suite on arrival.

Civil Wedding Ceremony ...read more

The Garden Room is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies and provides a stunning setting. This bright and airy room can accommodate up to 90 guests for a ceremony. Smaller parties are also welcome. Glass doors open out onto a secluded walled garden which is an ideal spot for your drinks reception afterwards.

The Garden Room has a built in music system. Musical preferences can be catered for throughout your ceremony.

To help your day run smoothly, the hotel offers a complimentary master of ceremonies. Once your ceremony is complete, the Garden Room can be re-set for the wedding breakfast or the evening reception.

The hotel is similarly flexible for smaller parties. Our Garden Room can be laid up for 30 guests at one large table or guests can be seated at round tables (upto 48).

The Wedding breakfasts consist of a 3 course set menu with coffee and the hotel does offer corkage.

The wedding breakfast menus consist of a 3 course set menu with coffee. Alternatively, for a small supplement, you may have a choice of 3 dishes for each course. Place cards with guests choices on the reverse side must be provided. Special dietary requirements are catered for separately. For evening receptions there is a range of exciting finger and fork buffets to choose from. Alternatively, you may like to opt for our evening BBQ menu. Children under the age of 12 are charged half the adult price. A children’s menu and high chairs are available.

The price includes:

- An evening reception finger buffet for 100 guests
