The Golden Hinde was the Tudor warship in which Sir Francis Drake circumnavigated the world in 1577 - 1580, then defeated the Spanish in the battle of Armada. Our reconstruction, a fully working ship, was launched in Devon in 1973. Since then she too has sailed over 140,000 miles round the world - more than the original. She is now berthed in St Mary Overie Dock, London, in the middle of historic Southwark, only a short walk from the Clink Prison Museum and Shakespeare's Globe.
Steeped in history and the only ship of its kind in London, The Golden Hinde is the unique venue for your special occasion. Hold your canapé reception on the open top deck, or why not have fully dressed Tudors entertain, and serve your guests? We cater for up to 100 people and hold a civil marriage licence. Our in house team can assist with the management of your event, leaving you to enjoy your day.
