  • Inspired by the elegance of a classic black-tie celebration blended with the rustic charm of an English country barn, this styled shoot at Elms Barn was designed to feel both attainable and timeless. Coordinated by Rhianna of Magical Moments Content Creation, with support from wedding director Ruth, the vision came to life through refined florals, soft textures, and an understated monochrome palette that balanced romance with authenticity.

  • This styled shoot celebrates the timeless charm of classic bridal beauty, reimagined through the lens of modern romance and rustic sophistication. Set against a picturesque countryside backdrop, the shoot brought together 16 talented creatives, each contributing to a cohesive, high-style vision. Lush greenery draped throughout the setting, adding natural drama, while olive-toned chair sashes and raw textures introduced warmth and depth. Fashion-forward bridal looks, featuring silhouettes gracefully making a comeback, were paired with a new bridal jewellery collection, adding a refined touch of modern luxury. A stunning artisanal cake, echoing the organic palette, tied the entire concept together. Every element was thoughtfully curated to strike a balance between elegance and earthiness – a fresh perspective for the bride who honours tradition but lives for elevated, design-led style.

Channelling Regency sophistication with a nod to Bridgerton, shoot coordinator Caroline Gould designed a styled shoot that perfectly complements the hotel's historic grandeur. Caroline recalls, “Weddings at Wivenhoe House Hotel often take place in the Garden Suite but we wanted to focus our efforts on showcasing the Drawing Room for ceremonies and Signatures Room for dining. It's such a beautiful space, steeped in history and the perfect location within the Hotel for Weddings of up to 60 guests. Having worked in the wedding industry for over 20 years, mostly as a wedding planner, I've met some fantastic suppliers in the Essex area that really are at the top of their game. So, when it came to selecting collaborators for this shoot, it was super easy and an absolute pleasure to work with them all.”

When we think of wedding dresses, white is often the first colour that comes to mind. Yet this tradition is more modern than many realise. White only entered the bridal world in 1840, when Queen Victoria married Prince Albert in a white satin gown trimmed with lace. Before then, brides simply wore their best dress, whatever the colour. Although white is now associated with purity, for Queen Victoria it was purely a fashion choice. Over time, that choice evolved into expectation and, by the early 20th century, white was firmly established as the bridal norm.

Thankfully, today's brides are far less bound by a rule book. Colour is once again embraced as an expression of individuality and personal style. Soft, almost-white shades such as champagne, ivory and stone are increasingly popular, offering a modern alternative for brides who want to step away from tradition while still retaining a distinctly bridal feel. Here, we share one colourful alternative.

Eucalyptus, Star Wars, and Stilton the cat: a truly personal celebration for Benjamin and Katharine Ruddy at Alpheton Hall Barns. The venue was transformed into a botanical haven. Large wooden hoops hung from the ceiling, each one wrapped in generous garlands of eucalyptus and complementary foliage. This theme carried throughout the space, echoed subtly in the stationery, which featured hand-drawn eucalyptus illustrations, and in the sage-green napkins that sat at each place setting.

A church venue was very important to the couple, as they wanted a classic and traditional feel to their wedding day. They chose Luddesdowne Church for the ceremony and hired a marquee from Cobham Marquees for the reception, which was set up at Luddesdown Village Hall. “The church and village hall are steeped in history, and the area is surrounded by rolling vineyards,” shares the bride. “The traditional Kentish countryside provided a beautifully simple backdrop for the day.”

Kat and Ben knew they wanted a barn wedding. Having visited a few venues, the pair clicked most with Nic and Carol at Alpheton Hall Barns. • Styling your wedding is an exciting but often overwhelming process. With so many options available, it can be difficult to know where to begin. A good starting point is your venue. If your venue is already rich in character or heavily styled, lean into its existing décor and architectural features rather than competing with them. In these cases, try not to over-style the space – sometimes less really is more, and allowing the venue to shine can create a far more elegant result.

If your venue is more of a blank canvas, styling it from scratch may feel daunting. To make the process more manageable, break it down into what matters most to you as a couple. Is it the colour scheme, the overall theme, or the personal details that tell your story? By prioritising what’s most important, you can build a cohesive vision without becoming overwhelmed.

  • A Stolen Moment Photography is a talented photography business based in Folkestone, Kent. Owner Daniel Ilkhan first picked up a camera at the age of 11 and has had a passion for seeing life through the lens ever since.

“I photographed my first wedding abroad in 2015, and from that moment I knew I didn’t want it to stop there,” says Daniel. “By being present from the bride’s preparation right through to the first dance, I fell in love with the entire concept of the wedding day. Every wedding story is unique, and I love to savour each moment as your story unfolds, capturing the raw emotion as you and your loved one start the next part of your journey together.

“I pride myself on carefully selecting candid, natural shots, creating memories that you, your family, and your friends will look back on and smile at for generations to come. This gives couples the opportunity to relax and not feel the need to act unnaturally during photos.

“With that being said, in my pre-wedding consultations I work closely with the soon-to-be newlyweds to gain an understanding of what they want to achieve and to take on board any ideas they may have. This allows me to build a professional yet comfortable relationship with them so that when the nerve- wracking and highly anticipated day arrives, I’m a familiar face – ready to work with them and help them comfortably and confidently document their special day.”

DJ Sound & Lighting is a much-loved Welsh wedding entertainment company built on one simple idea: create nights people never forget. The team’s reputation has been repeatedly recognised, earning Best Wedding DJ in Wales not only in 2025 but also in 2024, along with Best Regional Wedding DJ for an impressive eight consecutive years. In 2025, they celebrated two major wins at the Welsh National Wedding Awards – Best Regional Wedding DJ and the overall Best Wedding DJ in Wales.

“These awards matter so much because they’re voted for by the couples, venues, and suppliers we’re lucky enough to work with,” says founder Darren Tipples. “It’s their trust that keeps us growing.”

The business began modestly – a teenager with a passion, a homemade setup, and parents willing to endure the noise. Darren’s early gigs were youth clubs, school discos, and any event where he could plug in a speaker. “My dad always said that service is what people remember most,” he adds. “Three decades later, that’s still the heart of everything we do.”

Today, DJ Sound & Lighting is known for warm, people- focused service, packed dancefloors, and thoughtful production that fits each couple’s style. Darren credits the team for the company’s success: “They’re the reason each weekend feels special. Their reliability, creativity, and genuine care make all the difference.

“Winning two national awards in one night was incredible,” he says. “But the real reward is being invited into the biggest days of people’s lives.”

Chris proposed to Char on a skiing trip with friends to Val d’Isère in France. He had planned to take her to the Eye of the Needle, an iconic rock formation overlooking Tignes, but the weather dramatically turned and it took them hours to descend. • Vanessa and Ben met in 2024 at The Elite Awards in Carlisle. Ben was performing alongside Boyz on Block, a last-minute addition after Boyzlife were forced to cancel. As Vanessa reflects, “If Brian and Keith hadn’t stepped back, Ben wouldn’t have been on that stage – and we might never have met. After the show, we found ourselves chatting, nothing planned or forced, just two people connecting in a room full of energy and celebration. That conversation sparked something real and everything changed from there.”

Since that night, the couple have packed a lifetime into a single year – from award shows and festivals to exploring Spain and Dubai together. Then, in February 2025, during an unforgettable trip to New York, Ben asked Vanessa if she would be his wife.

Planning your wedding is an exciting journey, filled with choices that define your day and reflect who you are as a couple. To avoid weddings becoming wasteful, more couples are considering sustainability — whether that means reducing waste, supporting ethical vendors, or simply minimising their environmental footprint. The good news? Eco-friendly choices can be seamlessly integrated into every stage of your planning. This guide will help you make sustainable decisions without compromising your style or vision.

One of the first steps in planning your day is defining your overall vision. Discuss the style and vibe you want for your wedding – formal, rustic, or casual. There’s no right or wrong choice, but it should reflect your personalities. For example, if you’re an introvert, a large-scale wedding may feel overwhelming; likewise, if you love big events, a small registry office ceremony might feel underwhelming.

Before booking anything, take time as a couple to define what sustainability means to you. Is your focus on low waste, ethical sourcing, supporting local communities, or reducing carbon emissions? Creating a shared vision ensures your values shine through every decision.

Roy and Lauren have known each other for as long as they can remember. Over time, they realised that their friendship had potential become something more. They were right, and on 5th August, 2025 the pair joyfully tied the knot at Leez Priory.

  • Lauren and Joe met in secondary school in 2005. Over the years, their relationship blossomed, and on their fifth anniversary Joe surprised Lauren by popping the question on a sun-kissed beach in Cyprus. It was the perfect moment that marked the beginning of their next chapter together.

When choosing a backdrop for their big day, Lauren and Joe knew they wanted something outdoors, in a beautiful location that reflected their style – and The BarnYard fit the bill perfectly. The couple chose a soft baby blue, pale pink and white colour palette that complemented The BarnYard’s aesthetic. Lauren tells us, “We went to open days and fairs to get inspiration for our décor. Along with the help and recommendations from Lisa at Flowers & Sparkle Florist, we were able to put together our dream day.”

  • Sophie and Hywel met in school when they were 16. They sat together in science class and became closer, which led to Hywel asking Sophie to go to prom with him. Sophie tells us, “We spent all summer talking and made it official on bonfire night and have been inseparable ever since.”

Hywel proposed in September 2022 during a holiday in Cape Verde. They were celebrating purchasing a house together and wanted a short break before moving in and dealing with all the stress that comes with it. Sophie continues, “Hywel wanted a beach proposal and was checking the weather all week to get a nice, clear sunset. Halfway along the beach, which was completely deserted, Hywel got on one knee and popped the question. I thought it was a joke at first as I was in shock! After the proposal, we went back to the hotel and booked into one of the upmarket restaurants for a celebratory dinner.”

Wedding celebrant and shoot coordinator, Gabrielle Jones, wanted to bring a photo shoot together full of queer people and allies of the LGBTQ+ community with vibrancy and fun and boy did she fulfil the brief. • Perched high above the Dyfi Estuary, with sweeping panoramic views of the rolling Welsh hills and the glistening waters below, this styled shoot at Glandyfi Castle captured the essence of timeless elegance. Thoughtfully designed to showcase the versatility and enchanting charm of the castle, the shoot unfolded through four captivating design narratives.

The first embraced a classic palette of white and green – refined, romantic, and echoing the natural beauty of the lush landscape. Set against the castle’s rugged exterior, crisp linens, tall taper candles, and abundant white blooms created an air of sophistication.

The second transitioned indoors to the castle’s atrium, where soft draping, textured stone, and accents of blue reflected the sea beyond, cultivating a serene and ethereal atmosphere.

The third burst into life with vibrant colour – florals in vivid hues danced along the tables and climbed the castle walls, embodying joy and celebration.

Finally, the Mediterranean-inspired setup brought a slice of Italy to Wales, with sun-kissed lemons, rustic charm, and warm golden tones evoking long al fresco evenings under the stars.

Photographer Lauren Webster tells us: “None of this magic would have been possible without the incredible team of suppliers who brought their talent, creativity, and heart to every detail across the two-day shoot. This project stands as a testament to what can be created when passionate, dedicated people come together in an extraordinary place.”

There are four types of brides, which one are you?

The timeless, classic bride: You’re the embodiment of elegance with refined details, luxurious fabrics, and a love for tradition. You’ll never have to look back on those photos and cringe! Your look is refined with classic, soft blush pinks and a romantic air. The beautiful low bun adorned with an accessory will be your go-to.

The vintage bride: You’re a nostalgic soul who’s drawn to the romance of the past. Whether it’s 1920s glamour or 1950s charm, you bring old-school beauty with a twist. For your makeup, think bold, defined eyes, a sultry red lip and groomed brows, and when it comes to hair, Hollywood waves will give you a Golden Era edge.

The free-spirited bride: Down-to-earth and whimsical, you love a laid-back look that feels effortless. Nature is your backdrop, and your heart is full of wildflower vibes. Let your natural beauty shine through with a no-makeup look focusing on flawless, glowing, lit-from- within skin.

The fashion-forward icon: You set trends instead of following them. This may well be you if you’ve opted for a city centre black-tie affair. You love bold shapes, unexpected fabrics, and a runway-ready style. Your wedding is your personal fashion statement. The modern bride favours a sleek ponytail or high bun, a sexy, smoky eye, a nude lip, and glowing, glass-like skin.

Firm friends and business partners Mel and Lisa founded the bridal boutique ReNovia this year. Former secondary school teacher Mel and wedding and events planner Lisa have combined their experience and knowledge to launch this exciting business venture. Not only do they sell new and pre-loved wedding gowns and mother-of-the-bride/ groom dresses, but they also run a bridal-wear agency, plan weddings and events, and have even started a networking group in Hythe, Kent.

ReNovia has appeared at several wedding fairs this autumn and has begun forming collaborations with venues across Kent to work on exciting projects such as fashion shows and a curated wedding-fair experience, where couples can enjoy a fully interactive event with selected suppliers. Mel and Lisa have also featured as live guests on Simply Business Club’s radio show, Business Networking Show.

One of ReNovia’s key pillars is sustainability. They stock a range of designer collections, including Maggie Sottero, Ronald Joyce, Pronovias and Calvin Klein. Brides can trust in the quality of their gown for the big day, and the beauty is that they can later resell the dress through ReNovia’s agency.

She shared her expert insight: “If you start to feel nervous or a little awkward in front of the camera, the best thing you can do is turn toward each other and reconnect. Hold hands, share a touch, lean in – anything that brings you back into the moment together. Your body language shifts the second you focus on each other instead of the camera. And remember: your photos will reflect the energy of your day. If you’re soaking it all in and genuinely enjoying yourselves, that joy will naturally shine through in every image.”

  • Olivia and Ryan met like many of us, online, and it was love at first swipe. When the time came to pop the question, it was Ryan that got down on one knee – choosing to ask Olivia on a rowboat in Knaresborough.

For any couple, choosing a venue can feel like a mighty task; however, Olivia and Ryan had a clear vision in mind. Olivia comments: “We love spending long weekends exploring The Lakes, so we wanted our wedding to feel like the perfect getaway in the great outdoors.” Long Acre Barn set the scene for their nuptials and perfectly embodied the rural aesthetic they wanted. The chosen theme for their big day was rustic, chic pastels – perfectly displayed throughout their stationery and tablescapes.

  • Lucy and Graham met at work, and it was at a Christmas party that they sparked a relationship. They had been dating for 16 years when Graham decided to pop the question – asking Lucy on Great Yarmouth pier with their beloved dog, Ruby, in attendance.

Their choice of wedding venue was a sentimental one, as Caley Hall Hotel had set the scene for many of their getaways. They said their “I do’s” in the local church, Old Hunstanton.

Their theme was a collection of all their favourite things, with dogs, vintage touches, beaches, and traditional elements all making an appearance. This was highlighted by a pink colour scheme, seen throughout the décor and the bridesmaids’ dresses. They adorned the venue with white and pink flower displays, an impressive floral arch, a handmade beach hut post box, and seashells on the tables.

Inspired by the gentle blush of garden flowers, heirloom details, and the effortless beauty of countryside charm, this shoot strikes a delicate balance between the timeless and the whimsical.

Meaningful keepsakes aren’t just for the bride – they’re a wonderful way for the groom to shine too. Look for engraved cufflinks or tie bars that can feature your initials, wedding date, or a short phrase that holds special meaning for both of you.

If you have a sentimental watch passed down through generations, now is the perfect time to wear it. Alternatively, you could choose a new watch to mark the occasion and have it engraved with a meaningful date or message.

A bespoke tie offers a personal touch, crafted from fabrics that reflect your colour palette, or even a pattern inspired by your heritage.

Pocket squares can carry sentimental details too. Consider hand-stitched monograms, a hidden message in the hem, or fabric taken from a loved one’s outfit.

We’re truly spoiled in South Wales, surrounded by beautiful beaches seemingly made for dreamy seaside ceremonies. If you’re imagining vows framed by soft sand and rolling waves, a few practicalities are worth keeping in mind – starting with the weather. The UK is famously unpredictable, and strong winds, high tides or a sudden downpour can quickly interrupt your perfect moment. High tide may shrink your ceremony space, while low tide can reveal seaweed or rocks that aren’t ideal for photos. Always have a backup plan: by all means dream of the beach wedding you’ve always wanted, but is there a sheltered space nearby if the weather turns?

Think, too, about the nature of your chosen beach. Is it a busy public spot filled with families, or a quieter stretch of coastline? Some coastal venues offer the best of both worlds, beach access with added privacy, and can guide you on timings, secluded locations and logistics.

Facilities are also crucial. Are there toilets nearby? Is there shade for children, elderly guests or anyone sensitive to the heat? Consider parasols, fans, plenty of water or welcome kits with sunscreen, flip-flops and towels.

Helen and Ben met like many modern couples, online through a dating app. Their connection was instant, and over time their bond only grew deeper. Ben proposed during a magical city break in Berlin. “It was our last night, and we’d managed to get last-minute evening tickets to visit the dome and roof terrace of the Reichstag Building,” says Helen. “Ben asked me to marry him just outside, a few minutes after midnight, making it Valentine’s Day. I was overjoyed and excited that we could look forward to planning more of our bucket-list trips together.”

The couple dreamed of a venue surrounded by nature, with an outdoor ceremony setting. Helen explains, “The Ferry House felt remote enough to enjoy the scenic views over the water’s edge. The backdrop and the oak gazebo made it an easy choice for us. A major factor was having an all-in-one venue with accommodation. There are rooms on-site and cottages nearby, which was exactly what our guests needed.”

Of course, choosing a time, date and location are essential, but it’s who you will be sharing the day with which should be paramount. Whittling down your friends and family to your nearest and dearest is no mean feat, especially if your budget doesn’t allow for a huge guest list. There’s also the added pressure of who you think you should invite, rather than who you want to invite. Remember that no one’s opinion matters; if you don’t want Aunt Doris, then don’t invite her. If you don’t want your friend’s new boyfriend of two weeks there, you don’t have to – it’s about you and your partner, and that’s it!
