Hampton Court House is a stunning Georgian mansion set within nine acres of enchanting 18th-century gardens, and is hosting an open day on Saturday April 18th, from 10am to 1pm.

Completed in 1757, the house was once described as 'an elegant and recherché mansion, suitable for a wealthy merchant prince'. Today the house boasts a stunning main hall, conservatory, theatre, dining room and several private rooms with magnificent views overlooking Bushy Park, desirable for weddings and events.

The house and landscaped sunken gardens were designed by the renowned architect of the time Thomas Wright, who was also responsible for several other very special period features, such as the heart-shaped lake and the exquisitely decorated shell grotto. The grotto served as a banqueting house and no doubt was the venue of many moonlit parties. Today the grotto is a rare blend of two upper class obsessions of the time: Rococo garden design and shell collecting.

Ceremonies take place in the grand hall, overlooking Bushy Park, it's licensed for up to 150 guests; the marble fireplaces and chandeliers also make this a beautiful space for more intimate ceremonies. For al fresco nuptials, the beautiful gardens, surrounded by royal parkland, can also host 150 loved ones.

Post-vows, the Victorian picture gallery, complete with 10m-high ceilings, is a magnificent room for a wedding breakfast and can seat 150 guests, while the enchanting conservatory leading out to the stunning patio garden is the perfect space for you to dance the night away with up to 200 evening attendees.
