First, and foremost, thank you for taking the time to visit page and considering me to be your wedding photographer. Having been a very involved groom a while back, I know how important, and difficult, choosing a wedding photographer can be.
My style, as you can hopefully see from the images, is a mix of documentary, fine art and classic wedding photography. I enjoy capturing those special moments which occur throughout a wedding day, and which are so often missed by the majority of people present; whether its the tear in the eye of the Father of the Bride, a mischievous flower girl, a supportive squeeze from a bridesmaid or the roar with laughter at the joke in the Best Man’s speech that skirts the line of respectability, my aim is to capture these little moments for you as I believe they create the real character of a wedding day. But I equally enjoy the occasions where I get to spend a bit of time with a bride & groom staging and creating fantastic shots for them to cherish in the future.
With the rise in popularity of apps such as Instagram, and the sharing of photos, there has been the increase in the use of popular “looks”/filters or effects applied to a large amount of photographs seen today. The character of my photographs is as natural as possible, and I do not apply any particular styles or finishes in the post production process which will result in your images not standing the test of time and looking dated when you come to review them over future years.
My aim is to make my photography work for you on your wedding day and what you want to get out of your pictures. I’m as happy taking group and staged shots as I am following the brief of only capturing reportage/documentary photographs of the day. I believe the best work comes from collaboration and that’s why I like to spend time with a bride & groom before the big day either in their home or at their wedding venue (or over Skype if not possible) discussing what they want to achieve with their photography and how I can work with them on the day.
Someone once said to me “Pick your wedding photographer carefully as, after the dust has settled, in years to come your photographs are the only thing you’ll physically have to show for it…….. Oh, and a partner”
