Chris Mann has been a full-time professional photographer since 2003. He spent seven years working as a wedding and portrait photographer in the Caribbean, in locations as diverse as Mexico, St Lucia, the USA and Turks & Caicos Islands.
Since 2010 he’s been based in Guildford Surrey, bringing some of that tropical fun and sunshine to UK and European weddings, portraits and family events.
“I have two main aims when photographing a wedding”, he says. “First of all, to capture the important moments of the day – of course that’s essential. But also to make the whole experience as relaxed and fun as possible for everyone concerned.”
Out in the tropics the light can change from bright sunshine to overcast very quickly – so Chris has learned to deal with many different kinds of lighting conditions and environments. He’s also worked with many of the world’s leading wedding and portrait photographers, and attended numerous workshops and seminars to develop his craft.
“The thing I enjoy most about photographing weddings is the people I meet – and it’s fascinating how every wedding has its own unique character”, he says.
