Your Yorkshire Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 45)

We’d seen a number of venues in Leeds but weren’t enamoured by any. Some friends suggested Wharfedale Grange so we thought we’d visit, but we had no expectations. Within five minutes, we knew we had found our venue. It looked spectacular decorated for Christmas – we were sold! We didn’t follow a strict theme, but being almost December the venue was decked out in festive decor. Our flowers were provided by a local florist, Eden in Horsforth. I had a big bunch of long stem white roses while my bridesmaids’ bouquets comprised white roses, carnations, green foliage and winter berries. We had a Waitrose naked cake, which my stepmother decorated with icing, flowers and meringues. We purchased a very modern, minimalist stationery template from Etsy for our table plan and place names. Our favours were Christmas crackers – party hats included! 28
