A WINTER’ S TALE Wharfedale Grange provided the epic backdrop for Sara and Matt’s wintry wedding Images courtesy of Martyn Hand Photography S ara was working behind the bar at Halo nightclub in Leeds when she caught Matt’s eye. “He runs an events company for students so was often in the club,” Sara says. “I was surprised when my manager said Matt fancied me; for weeks I’d only heard him say ‘vodka soda please’!” When the pair did get chatting, they realised they saw the world through the same eyes. “Most importantly, he had a Persian cat, Ralph, who’s now our cat,” Sara laughs. When it came to popping the question, Matt pulled out all the stops. “He proposed on the first night of our holiday in Las Vegas,” Sara tells us. “He set out champagne on our balcony overlooking the Vegas strip before he got down on one knee. We headed to a club afterwards to watch Duke Dumont perform.” Back home, the pair set the date for a winter wedding on 30 th November, 2019, and got to work finding their dream venue.
