A watch with Vincent Van Gogh's painting on the face Timex has announced the MET collection. Iconic artworks from the MET’s vast collection were selected to grace the dial and strap of each expertly crafted timepiece, showcasing the beauty of both disciplines in a form of expressive, wearable art, represented across five timeless styles. Rich with detail and colour, this collection is a proud testament to both the timeless appeal of classic art and Timex’s signature eye for design.

This enchanting rendition of Timex’s Modern Easy Reader boasts a stunning dial that showcases a detail from Gustav Klimt’s (Austrian, 1862–1918) 1912–13 portrait of Mäda Primavesi. The painting continues down the leather strap, while a simple silver-tone case creates a subtle yet sophisticated frame. The self-portrait of Vincent Van Gogh has also been reimagined on the Modern Easy ReaderVan Gogh’s expressive likeness boasts bold brushstrokes  and vibrant colours, perpetuates down the leather strap.

The T80 showcases a detail from Maples at Mama, a woodblock print created around 1857 by Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese, 1797–1858). This tranquil scene from the series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo depicts maple branches framing a picturesque Japanese landscape. The artwork continues down the resin strap, while a silver-tone case perfectly complements the muted colours gracing the lens. Under the Wave off Kanagawa, also known as The Great Wave, a woodblock print created around 1830–32 by Katsushika Hokusai (Japanese, 1760–1849) is showcased also on the T80. This famous print from Hokusai’s beloved series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji depicts a colossal wave framing a comparatively small Mount Fuji in the background.
