Hedingham Castle was the backdrop to Eleonora and Daniella's Anglo-Italian wedding day, where every toast came with a side of amore .Ellie wore a Vera Wang dress, purchased in a boutique in Italy. Ellie describes, “I knew I was looking for something different and dramatic. I love fashion and I had been looking at different designers but there aren't many out there that can compete with Vera Wang.” Dan's dress was handmade from Cambridge Bridal Studio. The corseted dress she chose was perfect for her, she'd always told Ellie, “I want to be a fairy on my wedding day” and she certainly looked whimsy and ethereal.

They say that love is the wildest ride of your life, and for Ellen and Gareth they take this one step further, these thrill-seekers met at Thorpe Park! Their love soon blossomed and when it came to planning the proposal, Gareth made sure Ellen was kept out of loop until they were on the plane jetting off for a romantic trip to Barbados over New Year's. They celebrated the new year in luxury and Gareth proposed on 3rd January 2024.

Hayley and John met at the Chorley Cycling Club in November 2016 – starting what would be a glorious love story on wheels. Hayley recalls, “We bonded over our mutual love of bikes in the sunshine before our relationship started – something that we still have in common today!” When it came to popping the question, John had it all figured out. He asked Hayley to marry him during a weekend break to London, where he also added a surprise trip to a jewellery maker to seal the deal. Town Head Estate in the Lake District is where Hayley and John would pedal into forever and the venue was full of romantic features. Hayley adds, “The feel of the place, the team members we met on our first visit, the blank canvas possibilities, and their drive to deliver the dream – oh and the beauty room! – it was all just perfect.”

Katy and Joe met back in early 2016 at a housewarming party as Joe was friends with Katy's brother. “We got talking and ended up going out to meet my brother out in town later that night, where I was warned not to kiss him, but of course I did!” laughs Katy. “We ended up exchanging numbers and, thanks to my wonderful brother and seeing how much we liked each other, we had our first date and here we are nearly nine years later!” After romance blossomed, Joe planned an at-home proposal for Katy, “I remember the day like it was only yesterday! It was April 2nd and we had just come home from doing the food shopping early on a Sunday morning! I was so shocked and happy, I immediately said yes! I never wanted a grand proposal, so the fact it was in my favourite place with our fur baby, little cockapoo Benny, there was a dream come true!”

For the Hamilton’s, the party was key and chose an incredible DJ and Saxophone player for the evening. Daisy adds, “We wanted to make sure that the dancefloor was filled all night, and it definitely was! We had guests request songs when they RSVP’d, so it was fun to see reactions when their request was played throughout the night! The saxophonist was incredible – it was top of our list for entertainment when we started planning the wedding and we’re so glad that we made it such a priority!”

Charlotte and Scott have been in each others lives since they were 12 years old and attended the same school. At 14 and 15, when Scott became head boy and Charlotte became head girl, they spent even more time together – this later blossomed into the love story we see today. Scott proposed to Charlotte the day after their 10th anniversary with a hand-written card. Charlotte adds, “after reading the card, I turned around, and he was on one knee! We then went to design a ring in Hatton Garden that day, then out for dinner and stayed at a hotel! I couldn't have asked for anymore."

Like many, Amy and Tony met online and started their romance with the exchange of messages. They spent a short amount of time getting to know each other and jumped straight into the in-person dates. This blossomed into a lovely relationship, and it wasn't long before Tony was ready to pop the question, but how did he do it? Tony's grand plans to propose one weekend were scuppered a couple of times thanks to unexpectedly crowded areas – meaning the Williamson Park and Beacon Fell proposals went out the window. Here Amy tells us how Tony did end up popping the question, “I went into our bedroom, which had its door closed, and Tony was down on one knee! We had always spoken of marriage and so I thought I'd see it coming, but I was completely surprised... it was perfect!”

Davey and Lucy met at Top Body gym in Gorleston and then started texting through Tinder. Lucy adds, “We became a couple on the 8th July 2018, which is also why we choose the 12th July to be our wedding day – it was the closest Saturday to our anniversary! Davey said in his wedding speech our meeting 'was somewhere in between fitness and fate'. In March 2023, just a few days before Lucy's birthday, Davey proposed in front of the Eiffel Tower. “He knew how much I loved Paris, so just being there already felt special. Our flight had been delayed and we were running a bit late, but luckily we made it to dinner. After dessert, Davey suggested we go outside to take a photo just as the Eiffel Tower was about to sparkle on the hour. I didn't think much of it, he's always loved taking photos, so it felt completely normal. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was such a beautiful moment, one I'll never forget. We'd planned to spend the first day in Paris just the two of us, then join my family at Disneyland for the rest of the trip, which made it even more perfect!”

This Seven-Sisters-set bohemian elopement styled shoot emerged from a desire to capture the dramatic beauty of Sussex's iconic chalk cliffs paired with free-spirited fashion and romance. “The wild coastal landscape inspired our entire creative direction,” explains photographer and shoot coordinator Gregory Kowalski from Emotional Wedding Photography. From a curated colour palette of sophisticated neutrals (sand, stone and ivory) with subtle pastel accents (dusky rose and sage green) to the deliberate use of movement, and drone piloting next to the cliffs, the team brought their vision of a dramatic elopement to life. “We applied those same artistic principles to showcase how couples can elevate their elopement with fashion-forward styling while maintaining a real, sensitive connection, along with imagery that feels both aspirational and emotionally resonant for modern couples seeking something extraordinary,” Gregory continues. Ultimately, the boho theme came to life through the coordination and togetherness of 11 creative souls.

Having noticed a trend for more intimate weddings throughout the Wiltshire area Natasha Scanlon of Saff and Sass devised a plan to bring together a host of local suppliers to showcase their talent for small wedding vibes.

“We started by choosing a simple dusky pink colour palette using Saff and Sass bridal separates partnered with our flowergirl dresses,” Natasha explains. “All suppliers leaned into the palette with a beautiful wedding cake featuring handmade sugar flowers with fabric from the clothing range as a cake veil; home-grown seasonal florals embodying spring vibes; and hair and make-up focussed on delivering a light ethereal look befitting an intimate celebration.”

With around 250,000 weddings taking place every year, a frightening total of 3,625,000 tonnes of CO2 are emmited as a result, according to the Sustainable Wedding Alliance (sustainableweddingalliance.com). Indeed, an average wedding day in the UK generates a whopping 14.5 tonnes of CO2, whereas the annual per capita carbon emission is only 9.1 tonnes. The website further explains that food wastage is a significant issue with £488 worth wasted at every celebration, 65 per cent of a home's annual total. What's more, we're told that 4,910 tonnes of un-recyclable plastic was used and left behind at weddings, an equivalent of 47 blue whales!

Both Ellie and Dan fell in love with Hedingham Castle and its beautiful gardens. Ellie tells us, “Even though we didn't pick a specific theme, we knew we wanted colour since it was a summer wedding. We chose simple wildflowers as we knew the colours would pop and create a beautiful contrast with the castle and its history. The décor, centrepieces and favours were all handmade, as well as all the signage. This was to ensure everything had our style and stamp - rustic and joyful.”

After the proposal, it's not long after the cork's been popped on the champers that thoughts quickly turn to the wedding planning. Even though couples say to themselves, 'We'll just enjoy being engaged for a bit,' colour charts, themes and cake fl avours very quickly become the topic of conversation. The shoot is a celebration of collaboration, with an incredible team of bridal talent and experts. Each member played a pivotal role in creating a look that embodies the essence of the modern bride. Together, they've curated an elevated bridal look that highlights the personality of each gown. Each dress tells a story of love and individuality, making every bride's dream come true.

Born from the timeless magic of nature, here elegance meets the wild whispers of romance drifting through sun-dappled leaves. Set within the storied grounds of Pennard House, shoot coordinator Tobi Afolabi from Kinsbond Events imagined an enchanted forest narrative infused with rustic charm and refined details, an homage to love that feels both grounded and ethereal.

The colour palette was the team's compass featuring rust, sage green, burgundy, soft beige, and earthen browns, inspired by fallen autumn leaves, the warmth of golden hour, and the tactile beauty of parchment textures.

“We wanted the shoot to echo the feeling of stumbling upon a secret garden gathering, intimate, beautifully undone, yet deeply intentional,” Tobi explains. With florals that felt freshly foraged, textures that invited touch, and fashion that struck a perfect balance between classic and contemporary, every detail was curated to tell a story of modern love rooted in nature's quiet grandeur.

"I had an image in my mind of an outdoor wedding with a fun, relaxed vib and lots of flowers in soft, pastel shades," shoot coordinator Frances Browne from Meadow Lane Floral Design tells us. "I wanted to demonstrate how fresh flowers can transform a space, making it feel personal and unique to each couple.” So, she set about gathering a team to help her do just that.

“I'd been following Swanley Meadows on Instagram for some time and knew it would be the perfect location for the shoot,” Frances explains. So, she got in touch with venue owner Jenny, who was up for it, but there was a catch. The only date available was just nine days away! Not one to shy away from a challenge, Frances spent that night reaching out to her dream collaborators and by the following morning had assembled her team. Luckily, the day of the shoot was gorgeous. “As I arrived at the venue the scenery took my breath away,” Frances remembers. “It was lovely to spend time in the sunshine getting creative with lots of other talented, local, wedding suppliers.”

Daisy wore Posie by Made with Love Bridal (purchased from Perla Nova). The dress really was her 'day dot'. Daisy recalls, “It was the first picture that I saved when I started properly looking and knew that I had to find it. I tried on some beautiful dresses at Silk and Maple and Perla Nova, including some other Made with Love dresses, but when I tried on Posie, both me and my mum cried!”

Carrie of CK Wedding Flowers says, “I've always loved the elegance of English country garden vibes, especially with that Bridgerton touch. When we chose Botleys Mansion as the venue, it just felt right. The mansion's grand beauty was the perfect backdrop for a style that blends the charm of an English garden with a hint of Regency romance. Soft pastel blooms, lush greenery, and pops of vibrant colour created that timeless, romantic feel – classic yet fresh, with a playful twist. It's all about blending tradition with modern elegance, giving the shoot an air of sophistication, but with just enough whimsy to make it exciting.” – enjoy!

Shoot coordinator Sarah, of North & Flower, shares her inspiration, “The concept was born from the idea of bringing together two worlds — the charm of nature and the character of the city. Set in the heart of Salford at The Black Friar, we were drawn to the idea of an urban garden, leafy, intimate, and a little unexpected. We wanted to soften the industrial edges of the city with wild foliage, candlelight, and rich, earthy tones, creating a space that felt both grounded and romantic. “The look was all about contrast; a modern, playful bride in a fun, textured dress with bold accessories, cool shoes, and natural make-up, set against a backdrop of layered greenery and warm, heritage interiors. Every element had a sense of personality: oversized details, layered textures, and a balance between relaxed and refi ned. “The whole shoot came together as a celebration of individuality; for couples who love the city, but crave something green, characterful, and a little bit different.” – enjoy!

Natalie Slack, venue owner and director of Crown Hall Farm, organised this photo shoot to capture the essence of a romantic, fairytale wedding set within a beautifully serene outdoor venue. From the peaceful water backdrop and flourishing green surroundings, to the sophisticated draping and exquisite white floral arrangements, every element was curated to showcase how effortlessly elegance can meet nature. “Our aim was to present the venue as a dreamy blank canvas where modern romance could unfold – whether through the intimate moments of the couple or the opulent yet tasteful décor,” shares Natalie. “The ceremony setup embraced nature's tranquility with an open-air feel, while the reception design highlighted floral grandeur and soft textures that evoke warmth and refi nement. “We envisioned a space where couples could see their dream day brought to life: refi ned, romantic, and unforgettable. This lovely couple met at a wedding Sammi was performing at, and Alex stood out to her as one of the only people truly committed to the dancefloor. After the wedding, Alex approached Sam to enquire about booking her band and, of course, had to get her number! They now live happily with their two sons, Theo and Lennon. Getting married wasn't on Sammi's radar; it wasn't until Alex overheard her discussing families with their son, Theo, that he thought he got the green light to propose. Alex popped the question to Sammi on Aberavon Beach – Sammi's favourite place on earth – with a ring fashioned out of an orange skittle and a strawberry lace (Sammi is a self-confessed sweet-aholic). Alex's love for the outdoors was the driving force behind their venue decision, paired with Sammi wanting to get married at a venue she hadn't performed at – making Green Grove Barns the location for their dreamy nuptials. They adorned this already stunning venue with burnt oranges, pampas, fun details and even a Pringles tower! Yes, you read that right!

Fran and Andy met each other through mutual friends and for this couple, sparks instantly flew! A relationship blossomed and nine years ago, Andy proposed to Fran on what was any normal day. It was a Monday night and Fran had finished work and was still in her nurse's uniform when she walked into the biggest surprise of her life. Andy down on one knee and asking her to spend forever with him. Fran adds, “I remember our eldest child jumping around on the sofa from all the excitement.” The Tickled Trout would set the scene for their June wedding; the venue ticked all of Fran and Andy's boxes – natural vibe, lovely garden, nice food, and equally as nice reception area outside.

Taylor was working in Cyprus when she met Ellie, who was on holiday and had just lost her shoe. Afterwards, they got chatting and instantly made a connection. Taylor comments, “When we left the bar, I realised we hadn't exchanged contact details, so I trawled through Facebook trying to fi nd Ellie among around 75,000 people. Eventually, I found her, added her, sent her a message, and we stayed up until 4 am messaging. We met one final time before she went home, and I knew she was the one. “Once she got home, we played a game called 'Odds On' that ended up with her agreeing to come back out to Cyprus to visit and stay with me – and it worked! Two weeks later, she came back and we spent seven days together – we've literally been inseparable ever since!” Ellie proposed at Disney World, Florida, in front of the castle, as this had always been Taylor's dream. Ria and Cavill met the modern way, on Tinder, towards the end of lockdown. “It wasn't exactly a fairy tale but it didn't stop us having a fairytale wedding!” Ria says. Or indeed the dream proposal, since Cavill got down on one knee and popped the question in The Maldives.

The couple said “I do” at Beverley Minster followed by celebrations at Rise Hall. Once they laid eyes on the latter, it was an easy decision. “The grounds, rooms and service immediately presented as impeccable,” Ria explains. “It was a stunning period property and beautifully grand. Plus, the team was so friendly, yet professional.” The final big box ticked for them was the locality of the venue, not to mention the fact they'd already had a great experience of what a wedding day here would be like having served as best man and bridesmaid at a loved one's big day at Rise Hall.

Rosie and Chris met through work at Tulleys Farm. He proposed to her on a golf course in Spain, “Just like a scene from High School Musical,” Chris remembers. They were both attracted to Firle Place by its dramatic drive and beautiful surrounding spaces, so went ahead and booked the date for 9th August 2025.

Edward proposed to Natalie, who he met online, in a dramatic location at the top of Arthur's seat in Edinburgh. After venue hunting, they chose The Matara Centre as the location for their big day. “It's just such a special place,” Natalie explains. “It's gorgeous, laidback, and the gardens are stunning.” The couple opted for a soft, romantic palette of pastel hues featuring blue, green, yellow and pink. This was beautifully reflected in an abundance of florals, the focus of their venue styling for the day. Flowers hung from the dome in the hillarium, while a meadowscape was set up in the courtyard overlooking the pond.

When Billy played rugby for Rygbi Gogledd Cymru and won man of the match, his prize was a BMW for the week from the club's sponsors Halliwell Jones BMW, where Ffion worked. When he went to collect the keys from the dealership, Ffion was there to hand them over and the rest is history.

Billy proposed to Ffion in Port Eynon South Wales on the beach where the couple have spent many a happy summer.

“I booked Talhenbont Hall without Billy knowing because I loved it so much!” Ffion tells us. She went along to a private viewing with her bridesmaids and simply fell in love. “I loved the modern Coach House along with the traditional feel of the Main Hall – it was the best of both worlds,” she continues. “We were greeted by the lovely Alicia who made me feel instantly at ease.”

Holly and Dieter, met in modern fashion on Tinder! “I was the first to message Dieter, and before I knew it we were chatting away until the early hours of the morning most days. We went for our first date a couple of weeks after talking and we hit it off straight away! It didn't take long for me to realise he was the one – I guess love at first sight really does exist,” share Holly. Dieter proposed in the pub where the couple had their first date (The George, Hersham) on the exact table they were sat at in April '24. “We had a short engagement and in August that year we booked the date and venue! It wasn't a big grand proposal, but it was perfect for us, and we sat there and laughed about our first date and how nervous we were!” adds Holly.

Emma and Siobhan met in modern fashion, on an online dating app! “Emma had recently been catfished and didn't hold out much hope for online dating anymore,” shares Siobhan. “We found out later we actually had a mutual friend – so they could have introduced us!” For their first date, the pair headed to The Castle pub on Oldham Street in Manchester city centre. “We're very different personality wise, but both hold the same values which is important so hit it off straight away.” Emma proposed to Siobhan on their summer holiday in August 2023, outside the small cottage they'd rented in the Loire Valley, France. “At the time our daughter was just one. We were both of the opinion that marriage wasn't for us, but Emma changed her mind after making a podcast earlier that year for BBC Sounds called 'Danny Beard on love and same sex marriage'. Interviewing different LGBT couples from all over the country made her realise how important and beautiful marriage could be.” On the day, after a lovely barbecue and dessert Emma made Siobhan close her eyes and when she opened them, she was on one knee with her grandma's engagement ring. “Despite being in a wine region Emma made a rash purchase in a corner store and we celebrated with the worst wine ever!” laughs Siobhan. “We bought Champagne a few days later and celebrated again!”

Sophie and James first met when they were 11 and in school, but it wasn't until they were 15 that a romance would bloom. When it came to popping the question, James pulled out all of the stops to make it as special as possible. The lovely couple were holidaying in a treehouse in Devon in 2023, and had just got out from the hot tub, when Sophie ran inside to warm up (this was in February so there was still a bit of a chill in the air). Little did Sophie know that James was outside setting up the dream proposal. James had lots of candles outside and with the help of Mollie, their springer spaniel, asked Sophie to marry him. Talk about romantic! The wedding was set for 24th May 2025 at the Sugar Loaf Barn.

Suzanne and Ashley met on Tinder, and it truly was love at first swipe – Ashley was Suzanne's first and last swipe on the app! They met up the very next day and it was an instant connection for both. Suzanne adds, “it didn't take me long to know that I was going to marry him (roughly two weeks). It took him a bit longer to realise this (nine years!), but it was worth the wait. Ten years on and we are happier than ever with a baby on the way.” You can see flashes of Suzanne's baby bump in these wedding photos, which makes this romantic day even more special! So nines years after meeting, how did Ashely pop the question? After the sad passing of Suzanne's dad in 2024, Suzanne and her mum decided to go on a cruise of the Norwegian Fjords; little did she know that Ashley was coming too. Here Ashley tells us more, “my plan was to wait until the next day to propose but fate had other ideas. That evening, Rob and I were leaving one of the bars, and across the room – staring straight at me – was Suzanne. I panicked! I did what any man would do: I dove behind the nearest cover, which just so happened to be a man selling roses. I had two options; jump overboard and swim for mainland OR grab a rose, and propose. I chose option two.”

When couple David and Steven, who met via to keep guests going and carrying the Italian theme into Tinder back in 2017, set out on an Italian the night. adventure visiting Rome and Florence, David couldn't help but wonder whether Steven might pop the question. But, "Steven's not always one for an obvious cue," David tells us. On their last day, Steven, who unbeknownst to David had been carrying the ring in his pocket the entire trip waiting for the perfect spot, finally found his moment and dropped to one knee to propose.

The couple visited The Hospitium on a wedding open day. They'd long admired the building and, “As soon as we entered, we knew the hunt for a venue was over,” David shares. “It had everything we wanted, space, light, history, and gardens.” So, there was no hesitation in securing 11th July 2024, for the big day.

Chris proposed to Jade in New Zealand where they'd lived for two-and-a-half-years. He'd surprised her with a weekend away at one of their favourite beaches, Piha, and booked an apartment overlooking the ocean. While taking some pictures of the stunning view, he got down on one knee and popped the question.

Due to their great love of the outdoors, the couple wanted to find a venue with a gorgeous al fresco ceremony space and discovered Brookfield Barn, close to home, fit the bill. So, they set the date for 1st August 2024.

During a trip to St Ives, while sitting on the headland overlooking the bay, Cam handed Jess a photo book full of memories with the last page asking, “Will you marry me?” Noticing the emerald ring Cam was holding, she was in floods of tears before she even reached the end!

The couple tied the knot at iconic Bristol venue We The Curious, a place already part of their love story, and found themselves influenced by the Planetarium. So, in its honour, they selected a palette of dark, rich tones with a hint of celestial sparkle and a touch of old Hollywood glamour.

Although Bethany and Josh worked for the same company, they didn't speak properly until they bumped into each other at the pub one Christmas Eve. They went on their first date a few weeks later and quickly realised they love each other forever.

Christmas eve eight years later, to the day they met, Bethany returned home from a day out to find an aisle of petals and candles set up in their living room. “We had a very private, intimate proposal,” Bethany shares. “It was absolutely perfect in every way.”

The couple had their hearts set on a countryside venue and Colshaw Hall being in their home county of Cheshire made it the perfect spot. “From the moment we visited, we knew we were going to get married there,” Bethany says. The date was set for 12th July, 2024.

Nick and Pam met when they were both in their early twenties at Surrey Police headquarters, where they were training for different roles. “While there was the start of something, I moved away to Southend to become a local church minister while Nick's life remained in Guildford,” recalls Pam. “Aside from the occasional message, we mostly lost contact until Nick reached out at the beginning of the Covid pandemic. We started to date (socially distanced!) and re-kindled what was there before. We often joke that it took us 10 years – but we got there!” After romance blossomed, Nick proposed on 22nd January 2024 at Newlands Corner, Guildford, “This was somewhere we'd been for dog walks together or breakfasts over at the Plucky Pheasant across the road,” adds Pam. “Nick had been to Marlows Diamonds in London where Jo works (she would go on to become my maidof-honour along with her wife Sarah). Nick had taken Carina, his best woman, with him while I was on an away day at work. He had planned for a New Year's proposal, but illness meant he had to keep his secret for a few more weeks. The proposal was a total surprise to me, although Nick had been to see my family to speak to them about it in that time, and most of our friendship group had been in on the secret!”

Joanne and Martin Foster met in traditional fashion through friends on a pub crawl! “We bonded over our love of music and spent early dates going to see live music and bands locally,” shares Joanne. After romance blossomed, a relationship began and a young family started, Martin's surprise proposal for Joanne was on a pram walk with their baby daughter. “He dropped down on one knee on a quaint bridge with the water rushing by underneath,” recalls Joanne. “He did however open the box upside down and so there was a bit of a scramble to make sure the ring didn't fall out into the river!” Luckily that didn't happen, and Joanne was delighted with the antique-looking diamond and sapphire ring. It was a sunny summer afternoon, and the happy couple celebrated by going for a drink in their local and meeting friends there – just like how they met! “We are not into big or loud gestures, so this was perfect in every way,” adds Joanne. “Unfortunately, my cancer diagnosis the following month meant the wedding planning had to be delayed, though when this restarted the following year, it felt extra special given everything we had been through as a newly engaged couple with a small baby!”

Sam and Callam first met online and their first date was one to Starbucks. This was followed by a walk around a Northamptonshire Christmas market, where Callam inadvertently ended up meeting nearly all of Sam's family and friends – talk about being thrown in the deep end! But their connection survived the ultimate intro, and their relationship has gone from strength to strength. When it came to popping the question, it was all about acting on the moment as it was presented. Sam had ordered Callam's ring to their home, and understandably, expected the packaging to be small and discreet. When two large Vera Wang boxes arrived with Sam's name on it, and nowhere in the house to hide them, he decided that then and there would be the moment they get engaged. Sam got on one knee, on the landing in front of their home office, with Callam in his dressing gown (with his work headset on), and asked Callam to spend forever with him.

Iced in a dark forest green and brushed with opulent gold it was also adorned in sugar flowers to mirror the floral arrangements of dahlias, roses, and delphiumns. What a stunner!

Dan propsed to Caroline on a beautiful beach in Dubai while on holiday together. Caroline grew up in Dubai, so he'd chosen a particularly special place for such an important moment.

The couple first visited The Pear Tree on a very gloomy, rainy day in December, and still found it beautiful despite the weather doing its best to give the opposite impression. "It felt tucked away among the picturesque countryside and offered a great blend of history with a modern twist," Caroline explains. "It felt timeless, which was just what we were looking for." Jenny and Ben initially met at their Christian youth group, but it wasn't until years later when they reconnected and found themselves spending nearly all their time together that they started dating. “We never would have guessed all those years ago that we ever would have started dating and eventually be married, but here we are now!” Jenny says.

Ben proposed at the top of Beachy Head. Eastbourne is a place dear to the couple's hearts as they both have fond memories of the times Ben would go to visit Jenny at university there. “I could tell Ben was nervous on the day, so I did suspect something, but it still felt like a huge surprise when we he got down on one knee!" Jenny rememebers.

"For us, choosing Boxgrove Priory for our ceremony was a no brainer,” the bride continues. “My parents also married there and attended the church, so I always knew this was where I wanted to tie the knot. As Christians, it was important to us that we married in church, somewhere we felt God's presence, so it was absolutely perfect.” For their reception, the couple opted for Crate and Apple in Chichester. After nearly a decade together, Nick proposed to Chloë while in Surrey on a surprise mini-break. He packed a picnic and a bottle of Champagne for a romantic woodland walk and found an idyllic spot along the way to get down on one knee.

Meesha and Lewis met at work as newly qualified pharmacists starting on the same day. “We bonded quickly over our coffee breaks together and our friendship grew into a relationship,” Lewis shares.

Six months after buying their first home together, the couple decided to take a walk around their new village. While pausing by the duck pond, Lewis got down on one knee and asked Meesha to marry him.

Morgan and Grant met when Morgan was working as a barmaid at the Marriot Hotel in Bexleyheath. Grant was staying there for business, and it was at the bar that they got chatting. Morgan declined Grant's initial offer for a drink, but after a month of getting to know one another, she accepted. Grant popped the question at Morgan's sister's wedding right at the end of the night. At 10PM when her sister was about to throw the bouquet, the DJ started playing Bonfire Heart, the bouquet was handed to Morgan and she was spun around, to the sight of Grant on one knee. Morgan adds, “it was the most amazing moment to be able to share that with my sister and all my family.”

Joe and Chloe met when they were 15 and in school, their puppy love would stand the test of time and on their 10- year anniversary, they would tie the knot. Rebecca Moxley and Steven Moxley tied the knot on 1st November 2024 at Layer Marney Tower. In the evening, once the evening guests had arrived and before the first dance, there was a performance from the most majestic fire performer, Lauren. She was dancing and breathing fire. It fitted in with the medieval vibe perfectly and the guests all thought she was incredible.

My top tip if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed by choice at the start of your wedding planning would be to attend at least one local wedding show. You'll have a couple of options to look out for here. Often, wedding venues will host wedding showcases where their recommended suppliers get together to demonstrate how amazing they can make the space look. Nothing beats seeing a stream of stunning designs sweep down the runway, giving you an idea of how the top looks move on the body as well as the vibe they exude. By the end, you'll be ready to head to your boutique appointment excited and prepared with a brief for your consultant.

"My vision for the day was to create something floral and whimsical with a focus on pastel tones," photographer Sophie Waghorne tells us, "Perfect for a springtime vibe." Whirlow Brook Hall was the ideal space to capture the local suppliers' creative spirit. Located in the centre of Sheffield, it's set in gorgeous parkland space away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Meanwhile, the large windows allowed for Sophie to play with plenty of natural light. “The team at Whirlow Brook were fab to work with and I'm very grateful to them for letting us use the space on the day,” she continues.

The project's dream team was comprised entirely of talented Yorkshire lasses, and Sophie found herself proud to work alongside such strong, independent business women. “Everyone involved is so talented and worked super hard to bring my vision to life just from the mood boards I'd shared with them a few months prior," Sophie says. "We met through the world of Instagram and have built great friendships as a result."

The aim for the day was to capture a variety of bridal looks modelled by Katie and Irini from the classic to the fun. The gowns were provided by Dorothy Eloise Bridal, while the chic two pieces were designed and handmade by No.17 Edit.

Keen to showcase the suppliers' latest launches, the shoot also features new signs and newspaper by Rose Designs, as well as bridal earrings and clip-in veils by Laura Fernandez.

We're sure you'll love the result as much as we do. Sophie concludes, “We hope this inspires couples not to be afraid to incorporate colour or something a bit different into their days!”

Leonie and Kenny met online, and it was an instant connection for both. Leonie was ready to give up on fi nding love online but then fate brought these two together. Their conversations were built on a shared love for Disney, but it was Kenny's humour, honesty and caring nature that really sold Leonie. Their bond was instant and there was nothing coming between these two. With the pandemic approaching, Leonie and Kenny knew they didn't want to be apart for an uncertain amount of time. So, within six months of the fi rst date, they had met each other's families, bought a house together and already started discussing things like marriage and kids. Leonie adds, “there are those that thought we were crazy or moving too fast, but we always said, 'when you know, you know!'. When you meet the love of your life you don't want to waste a single second!”

Kenny spared no romance when planning the perfect proposal. His original plan was scuppered, no thanks to covid, but everything happens for a reason and the new engagement plan was testament to this. Kenny had arranged the hire of a Morgan convertible (the ultimate romantic vintage car) and drove Leonie around the Scottish Highlands, stopping at various points to take in the spectacular sights. The last stop was at a breathtaking waterfall with amazing scenery, it was here that Kenny announced his fi nal surprise and got down on one knee.

Gina and Daniel's relationship starts with the overcoming of some very difficult times. With the loss of a dear friend and the approaching lockdown, they had a lot to overcome in a short amount of time. They may have started as flatmates, but the bond that flourished has created what is now, a beautiful relationship. Whilst lockdown was a tumultuous and daunting period for a lot of us, this time gave Gina and Daniel plenty of opportunities to get to know one another and to partake in some of the classic lockdown activities. Gina adds, “we were both locked down in the flat – we used to play lockdown bingo, which made for plenty of our own adventures.” Gina and Daniel now live happily ever after with their son and dog in Cardiff.

But before we jump to the end, how did this gorgeous couple become newlyweds? Daniel and Gina found Gina's engagement ring together when they were travelling in Madrid in 2022. They bought it there and then and carefully carried it around with them for the rest of the day. Daniel then popped the question in Bruges, in September that same year. Gina knew the engagement was coming but wasn't sure when, so this still came as a nice surprise. Daniel even did it on the bridge overlooking Lovers Lake – how romantic!

It's always nice to include young flowergirls in the prep, they love to feel part of the morning. When choosing a style, you need to decide how long it might last and how long they'll sit for having it done. If their hair is very straight asking for curls will take a long time to do only for them to fall out quickly, whereas plaits or a nice, neat bun would look so nice and last the whole day. If they have natural curls, these can be enhanced with a wand and maybe the sides pulled back into a half-up half-down style. Adding fl owers or a bow always looks beautiful too.

When Henry proposed to Sarah four years on from their first date, the venue search for the big day began. "We knew we wanted to get married in Audlem, close to where we both grew up,” Sarah explains. “The challenge was to find a venue close enough to the church. The one we eventually chose gave us free rein to use the building in whichever way we wanted. We loved that the owners were happy for us to treat it like our home for the weekend. It had an intimate atmosphere and provided rooms for 20 of our friends to stay. It was the perfect setting for a fun weekend away with our loved ones.” So, the couple didn't hesitate and secured their date: 31st August 2024.

Star and Ben's is a modern-day romance having met on a dating app. Star is from Hull, where we're told everyone knows everyone else, so it was a surprise to her to come across someone who she'd never met, was her age and in the same radius!

Ben proposed in 2022 after four years together. The couple love a spa trip and one of the earliest in their relationship had been at Rudding Park. So, it was here that Ben decided to pop the question after a lovely day of relaxation together. “It was just the two of us, which was perfect,” Star remembers.

Q - We love the current trend of Lambeth-style wedding cakes! We've only really seen the design on single-layer cakes and we would like a tiered design; will this style work on multiple layers?

Q - I keep chopping off my locks in the hope it will help the breakage and split ends, but they still look dry and 'fluffy'! Help, what can I do in time for our wedding day?

Trimming your hair is definitely a good habit to prevent split ends from travelling up the hair shaft – but if your strands still feel dry and fluffy, it's likely a sign of deeper dehydration or damage. First, take a look at your routine: Are you using heat tools regularly without a heat protectant? Are you over colouring your hair causing damage? Are you getting enough protein and oily fish in your diet to give the hair the nutrients it needs? Have you had your iron levels checked as this can really affect the hair. Try switching your conditioner to a deep treatment mask but use it every time you wash your hair, most of the modern ones now are instants. I'd recommend switching between something with protein like K18 and something super-hydrating like Authentic Beauty Concept Hydrate Mask. Also, consider adding a lightweight leave-in conditioner or smoothing serum to damp hair before styling. This will help lock in moisture and reduce that fluffy texture. My absolute favourite is 7SECONDS Detangler and Briogeo's bespoke Don't Despair, Repair. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase works wonders too – avoiding rough towel-drying and just patting the hair dry can make a huge difference. Healthy hair isn't just about the cut – it's about care, consistency, and choosing the right products for your hair type.

What cake trends are we leaving 2024 and what can we expect to see in 2025?

GINGER BEAR BAKERY - I think the ruffle trend is slowing down and will eventually be left in 2024. I made lots of the ruffle-style cakes last year, but I'm not seeing it as much in 2025 orders. There are lots of exciting new trends coming through for 2025; the vintage styling is still huge and lots of my couples are opting for this, choosing to complete their cakes with cherries or bows! Another trend I am excited for is fresh fruit; raspberry topped cakes and oversized single tier cakes are going to be seen a lot in 2025, dressed in all kinds of fruits and fresh florals!

Niamh and John met via a mutual friend and got on like a house on fire from the get-go. “We made each other laugh and it just felt really natural when we went on our first date,” Niamh shares.

Once he'd decided to propose, John booked a surprise weekend away in London. The couple enjoyed a trip to the theatre, followed by dinner and John popped the question when they got back to the hotel.

Niamh's parents got married at St Mary's Church in Lymm, so the couple decided to tie the knot here too, right by Lymm dam. “I always wanted wedding bells,” Niamh explains. When it came to the reception venue, the two looked at many Cheshire venues, but fell in love with Arley Hall and Gardens. “It's stunning, has gorgeous grounds and the staff are so lovely and helpful,” Niamh explains. “We really felt like they'd look after us!”

Charlotte and Matt met on Tinder. After chatting on the phone, they decided to meet for a first date at a pub in Wakefield. The two talked and laughed non-stop and even sat in the car together after the pub had closed to continue their conversation. As Covid hit not long after they found themselves thrown together in scenarios that might otherwise have taken months, or even years, but Charlotte believes this helped to strengthen their relationship.

Matt proposed one Christmas Eve. Charlotte had just managed to get their son Blake down for a nap when Matt handed her a scratch card. Nothing particularly unusual as they have scratch cards every year at Christmas, that was until Charlotte matched three rings and started to realise something different was happening. She scratched off the prize panel and Matt got down on one knee and asked her to marry him, just as the card revealed.

Initially, the couple were looking to get married abroad but after some research they were still unsure so decided to look at some UK venues to be sure. “Temple Newsam was an absolute wildcard for us as we didn't know they did weddings,” Charlotte shares. “We've always loved visiting stately homes and have spent a lot of time at Temple Newsam either with friends or together as a family. When we met Josh and looked around, we were blown away by what it had to offer.” Josh then told them about a new room available for hire, so they went to take a look. “As soon as we set foot in The Picture Gallery, we knew it was the place for us,” Charlotte explains. “A jaw-dropping room, the Gallery was the perfect backdrop for our wedding and suited us as a couple.”

So, with all thoughts of an overseas wedding dismissed, the date was set for 26th April 2025.

Q - I would like to wear a veil on my wedding day, but I also want a hairstyle to wow when I remove it for the wedding breakfast and reception; what will be suitable for my must-have accessory?

A - Veils work well with many hairstyles including half up half down, updos and Hollywood waves. For the biggest impact when removing your veil and hairstyle that could really wow is one that has intricate details (like a braid or twist) that then becomes visible when the veil is removed! When the veil comes off, it's the perfect time to add a hair accessory (like a beautiful comb) in its place.

I've heard about the rise in Rococo-style weddings, and I am obsessed! How do I modernise it for my wedding day?

Armathwaite Hall has noted a 95% increase in 'Rococo wedding' being searched on Pinterest. If you're yet to see this trend for yourself, think Bridgerton to another level! But how can you make your Rococo wedding look effortlessly luxe without tipping over into dated?

1. Timeless elegance over extravagance
Instead of a mass of frills, chiffon and bows for your wedding dress, why not opt for a modern mermaid silhouette and bring in the Rococo references with a corset fastening or pearl-encrusted bodice?

2. Sophistication over showy décor
Think single strings of pearls or a delicate high neck on your wedding dress. Opt for subtle silk bows dotted around your reception area, rather than gaudy, oversized versions stuck to the backs of your bridesmaid dresses! Keep the intricate, embroidered fabric that characterised the Rococo era to larger items – such as tablecloth.

3. Pretty pastels over gilded gold
Make sure gold is used as a secondary accent colour only, keeping your primary focus on fresh pastels – lavender, blush pink and peach. Swap old-fashioned golden gilt candelabras for contemporary glass pastel versions and opt for a cake iced in eye-catching pastel tones.

4. Bridgerton music!
Create that true Baroque era atmosphere by hiring a string quartet or classical band to play at your wedding. But make sure they play Rococo-era-inspired versions of well-known modern songs – à la Bridgerton.

5. The venue is everything
Look for somewhere featuring traditional, ornamental décor, a breathtaking ballroom and rolling grounds. If you're lucky, you might snag somewhere with a sweeping staircase to make your grand entrance.

6. Stay sustainable
Beeswax candles are more environmentally friendly and burn 'clean', meaning they don't produce any harmful byproducts. Biodegradable confetti and reusable faux flowers allow you to add further pops of pastel colour without harming the planet.

7. Embrace high hair
When it comes to hair, think Marie Antoinette but modern! Instead of larger-than-life hair that towers high above your head, opt for a high, messy bun with a relaxed feel. Gentle curls and artfully placed tendrils will complete your contemporary take on the famous Baroque hairstyle.

8. Pearls, pearls, and more pearls
Whether you plan to wear them around your neck, on your wrist or sewn onto the fabric of your dress or suit, pearls are the perfect finishing touch to a Rococo outfit. You can even place loose pearls into coupe glasses or vases and add them to your tablescaping arrangements as the ideal Rococo-inspired ornaments.

9. Avoid sepia filters
While it might be tempting to get a few black and white or sepia-toned photos, your pastel celebration runs the risk of losing its modern edge when stripped of its colour.

10. Keep things playful
When we think of the past, we often think of everyone as buttoned up and stuffy – yet the Rococo period was anything but!

Q - How do I create a fresh-faced dewy finish for my summer wedding this August?

A - The key to a fresh, dewy finish starts with a good skincare routine – ensuring your skin is hydrated ready for the products. Once your skin is prepped and glowing the make-up will sit beautifully. I start with a hydrating primer, usually something with light-reflecting properties (the Saie glowy super gel is my favourite at the moment!).

On to the base, I love NARS' Light-reflecting Foundation or Armani's Illuminous Foundation; this offers a light coverage and when topped off with Charlotte Tilbury's Flawless Filter, you're guaranteed a glow. A creamy blush by Patrick TA or Hourglass will give a fresh dewy finish; I like to lock this into place with the Dior Glow Palette - I also add this to the brow bone and cheek bone for the ultimate glow from within look.

Use a hydrating setting spray to maintain the glow without your make-up slipping (make sure you use one that is designed to illuminate). Avoid over powdering and lightly dust the T-Zone where you may need mattifying. Finish off with a lip liner and a gloss to achieve that radiant look for your special day.
