"Inspired by the strong history and breathtaking beauty of Birdsall House, I wanted to design a Vanity Fair floral wedding shoot to create a timeless and elegant feel,” says Helen Emson of Willow & Bear Floral Design. “The focus was on empowering our bride to be strong, independent and individual in her wedding styling and choices. Having three different styling and floral looks reflected different sides of her personality, with a consistent strong classical look from her groom standing strong by her side. I used classical summer pastel ingredients with lots of roses, peonies, hydrangeas and seasonal British blooms for a bold contemporary look that blended with the stunning surroundings. The asymmetrical arch at the front is a bold representation of combining strength and beauty through florals; designed to set the trends rather than follow them. The table is set for an intimate celebration with a refined classical look and a contemporary edge to honour the couples' love and devotion to each other.”

Real bride Hannah looked stunning in her Ronald Joyce gown from Exclusively Yours Bridal Boutique (www.exclusivelyyoursbridalboutique.co.uk). She didn't have any idea of style or shape when she started shopping, and tried on more than 20 gowns before she was able to narrow it down. Her dress was the last she tried on and she fell instantly in love, although it did require some tweaks to adapt it more to her taste.

Choosing your photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make when planning your wedding. The first thing you should do is decide on a style that you like. There are plenty of photographers out there, and each one has a different style; you'll need to narrow it down to what you like and don't like. Some photographers prefer to take relaxed, documentary-style pictures that are captured in an unobstructive manner with limited group and posed shots. While others have a more traditional style with more posed snaps. To help you find the perfect photographer, we asked local companies to share some of their favourite images.

Bree-Anne and Harry met in 2014 through her cousin. “We instantly clicked and always had a laugh when we were together,” says Bree-Anne. “We were best friends for a few years before getting into a relationship in May 2016.”
Harry popped the question in 2022 in Corfu. “It was a complete surprise,” shares the bride. “It was the beginning of the holiday, and Harry took me to a clifftop as the sun was setting, where he then got down on one knee. I was speechless, but of course I said yes!”

Leanne and Jonathan met through friends on a night out. “We didn't have mobile phones at the time, so we had to message each other through MSN at first,” laughs Leanne. “After 14 years together, Jonathan proposed on holiday in San Diego on a gondola at sunset. It was a surprise, as after so many years together, I didn't think it was actually going to happen.”
"We love visiting the spa at Low Wood Bay Resort & Spa, as we feel at home when we are there," adds Leanne. "The aisle in the ceremony room was beautiful, and the venue was also the perfect location for our boat cruise, which all of our guests really enjoyed."

Sophie and Graham met through her mother. “As cliché as it sounds, we fell in love at first sight,” says Sophie. “Graham worked with my mother, and we met at her leaving do. We fell in love over jelly and ice cream. The day we met, I went home and told my family I was going to marry him.”
Graham proposed during lockdown. “We were meant to fly out to Iceland; however, the flights were cancelled as we went into lockdown that day,” shares the bride. “Graham decided he couldn't wait any longer and popped the question in our living room. I cried a lot and was very surprised.”

Hannah and Steve met in a bar in Kavos, Greece back in 2018. Hannah had gone away with her best friend and Steve was on holiday with two of his mates. They got chatting over shots and soon discovered not only that they lived just 10 minutes away from each other, but also that they shared a mutual friend. The two spent the rest of the holiday getting to know each other, then having arrived back in the UK they met up the same evening to go for a meal. They couldn't stop talking, it was the start of something wonderful.
Steve proposed to Hannah on her birthday at Lands End in Cornwall. “I pride myself on my intuition and never thought he'd be able to hide the fact that he was going to propose, but he did!” Hannah shares. In fact, Steve had put in a lot of hard work behind the scenes, finding the perfect ring, asking her parents for permission and sharing his plans with friends. He says, “When we got to Cornwall, everywhere we went I was trying to find the perfect location, but I realised the only place I could do it was Lands End, as I'd go to the ends of the world for her.” Having worked at King Charles Hotel in Gillingham for many years, Hannah was very familiar with its sister hotel, Inn On The Lake and just knew she wanted to get married there. She did however book some appointments to view other venues, not wanting Steve to feel pressured. Happily though, it didn't take him long to agree wholeheartedly that Inn On The Lake was the place for them, having also fallen for the beautiful location, woodland walk and ample guest accommodation. So, the date was set for 24th June, 2023.
