Rebecca Jaquest founder/creator of the new NYITA fragrance collection is a super-smeller - someone who can perceive scents from the next room and – as her collection reveals - is able, almost instinctively, to use that turbo-charged sense to blend some of the most exquisite fragrances.
The idea for NYITA came to Rebecca when she was pregnant. “When I was expecting my first child, I became hyper aware of harmful ingredients. So, I set out to create the purest products containing nothing but organic ingredients – initially for me, then for frieds and family and the collection has just grown organically and successfully from there. We asked her for some advice around choosing scent for your special day and here are her thoughts and trends for the season.
Is there a history to what brides choose to wear on their big day - any perfumes that have set trends?
Bridal fragrances are deeply rooted in creating a scent memory so choose a perfume which will always remind you of your very special day, for many years to come. There has been a long history of women using scent for their wedding day for example Mediterranean and European brides were known for weaving fragrant orange blossoms into their hair. To this day the orange blossom, or Neroli which is the highly prized steam distilled version, is a very popular scent that embodies this. Organic Neroli is one of the world’s most prized fragrance oils which we chose to use within our sublime YUZU NOIR and transcendent CELESTIA Organic Extrait de Parfums. 100% organic and with high concentrations of opulent ingredients, these parfums are the most exceptional fragrances.
What makes the most romantic perfume?
There is no doubt that when it comes to romantic fragrances florals are queen. Our CELESTIA Organic Extrait de Parfum weaves Neroli with Ylang Ylang ‘Extra’ to create a heady, intense sweet and sensual fragrance. We use this very special Ylang Ylang as it is the first and purest distillation and oozes sensual romance.
To enhance your fragrance, I would suggest layering it with body oil, which will also leave your skin unbelievably soft. Our NYITA body oils are meticulously crafted and the exquisite, limited-edition Jasmia body oil, is created using the ancient technique of enfleurage, where flower petals are painstaking layered by hand every day for over a month until the desired scent is reached.
How can a bride choose a fragrance for her wedding day that she'll remember?
Choosing a fragrance for your special day is a deeply personal experience, so you should choose the one that centres you, makes you happy, and leaves you feeling the most divine version of yourself. Sample Sets, like the one we offer can help with selecting personal scents however if you prefer a little spontaneity, our Discovery Set carries three extraordinary Organic Extrait de Parfums for ‘in the moment’ scenting. Or perhaps you could create a special scent memory with fragrance chapters defined by key moments throughout the wedding journey.
What are the trends in scent for Summer 2026?
Just as your memories for your special day are timeless, so should your fragrance be. Choose a scent that defies transient trends and is deeply personal to you to remember forever.
