Morocco might be known for its bustling souks, vibrant colours and rich culture, but our stay at Kasbah d’Eau offered something quite different – a peaceful coastal retreat where we could truly switch off and enjoy some quality time together. Just a short flight from London Stansted with Ryanair, before we knew it, we had swapped the grey skies of home for Morocco’s warm sunshine and fresh Atlantic sea air. As soon as we landed, our driver was waiting to greet us, instantly removing any stress from the journey and allowing the holiday to begin the moment we arrived. The drive towards Essaouira offered our first glimpse of Morocco’s rugged coastline, and with every mile the pace of everyday life seemed to slip further away. By the time we reached Kasbah d’Eau, we already felt completely relaxed. Hidden away beside the beach, the hotel immediately delivered the sense of calm and escapism we’d been craving – the perfect setting to begin our honeymoon adventure. SEASIDE SERENITY Situated just outside Essaouira on Morocco’s Atlantic coast, Kasbah d’Eau feels like a hidden oasis. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by how romantic the setting was. The boutique hotel sits in a charming beachfront location and combines traditional Moroccan character with a relaxed atmosphere. One of the biggest draws for us was the fact that the hotel has just 17 rooms. In a world of sprawling resorts and crowded hotel complexes, there was something special about staying somewhere so intimate. It never felt busy, and there was always a peaceful corner to retreat to. Whether we were relaxing by the pool, reading a book or simply enjoying the sea views, there was a sense of calm that made it easy to leave everyday life behind. The outdoor swimming pool quickly became our favourite spot. Overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, it offered stunning views that seemed to stretch endlessly towards the horizon. We spent many hours lounging beside the water, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the tranquillity. It was the perfect place to slow down and savour the simple pleasure of spending time together. Inside, the hotel’s boutique character really shines through. The service throughout our stay was exceptional.
