Your Yorkshire Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 45)

35 REAL WEDDINGS Creative Junkie, a talented Leeds-based calligrapher, wrote our table plan, table names and place settings by hand. The tables were named after places with special meaning to James and I. My grandad has Alzheimer’s and couldn’t make it to our wedding, so in lieu of favours we donated money to the Alzheimer’s Society. My dad’s friends lent us their burgundy Morris Minor called Maisie, which my dad drove me to the church in and James drove us back to the venue. It was so special and looked incredible against the backdrop of the Yorkshire Dales. The groomsmen, bridesmaids and my mum were transported in a Land Rover Defender; it looked amazing and a lot of fun was had inside! James wore a bespoke dark green velvet tux jacket from Moss Bros with our wedding date and initials sewn into the pocket. His grandfather’s Rolex and patent black shoes added to the New Year’s Eve look. My best girls’ dresses were floaty and magical and we accessorised them with diamanté belts for some added sparkle. I tried on so many dress styles, and never thought I’d go for something as fitted as Venus by Suzanne Neville. The Sassi Holford jacket added the wow factor, and I knew I’d be cold during the day. When I took my jacket off in the evening, I clipped on a diamanté belt for a glam party feel. I’m fortunate enough to work on the PR for La Redoute, and have met some talented people through my profession. One of these people is Tiffany from Bloom, who sells silk and artificial flowers. She made a bespoke hanging arrangement and very kindly said I could use it in the tipi. It transformed the space and gave it real wow factor. 
