Your Yorkshire Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 45)

34 We loved the setting of Yorebridge House, with the River Ure running past, sheep and horses in the fields nearby and inside the fires were lit for a real home-from-from feel. We booked all 12 bedrooms so our nearest and dearest could stay with us. We had 120 guests so we opted for a beautiful tipi from Totem Tipi on the lawn outside, which looked absolutely magical. Our colour palette was silver, white and green, and we chose Joanna at The Rarified as our florist. From the moment I met her she totally got me and what I wanted. I didn’t want the styling to look fussy and neat – Joanna called it stylishly messy! Our florals were wintry, natural and fresh; she also decorated the church and tipi with hundreds of lanterns, candles and vases. When I walked into the tipi, I was stunned at how incredible it looked. Our cake maker, Tiers and Sprinkles, are located near to the venue so knew it well. Katie was brilliant and baked us a three-tier cake in ginger, lemon and red velvet, all covered in semi-naked icing. She added figs, blackberries and thistles for a seasonal feel – I wish I could eat it again now!
