Your Yorkshire Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 43)

REAL WEDDINGS 35  Public transport is limited in the Dales, and we knew some of our London friends would struggle with this concept! We hired James Peacock Private Hire to pick up and drop off guests staying in nearby villages. It was great not having to worry about the logistics of getting everyone to the venue. On a trip to Barcelona, my friend Nicola surprised me by making an appointment at Pronovias’ flagship store. I fell in love with the first one I tried on, and there were a lot of tears and giddiness (and cava!). I looked at other gowns back in the UK, but nothing compared so I ordered it from the London store. The venue is so beautiful that it really doesn’t need much dressing. Being an autumn wedding, we created a cosy atmosphere with lanterns, candles, firepits and festoon lighting leading into the tipi. It looked gorgeous as the light started to fade. The men all looked handsome in navy suits with ties to match the bridesmaids’ dresses. Mark stood out in a beige waistcoat, while the other men wore grey. My best girls looked elegant in full-length wine-coloured styles.
