Your Yorkshire Wedding - July/August 2020 (Issue 43)

34 We live in London but our families are from Yorkshire and Lancashire. About six months into our relationship we travelled up to visit family, stopping at Yorebridge House for the night as a treat. We both fell in love with this boutique hotel in the Dales, so when we got engaged we knew it was the place we wanted to exchange our vows. We didn’t even look anywhere else! The beautiful flowers were expertly curated by Stems Design to complement our deep wine-red palette. The highlight has to be the floral hoop, which was a real showstopper hanging in the middle of our reception tipi. Another lovely touch was the flower bunny the company gave my one-year-old niece to walk down the aisle with. Our five-tier cheese cake was provided by local cheese shop The Courtyard Dairy, and was decorated by our florist. We also wanted a sweet element so we had red velvet cupcakes from Fairy Cakes & Co. We were inspired to create a DIY table plan with cards from our stationer, norma&dorothy, that we stuck onto empty wine bottles and sat on crates. Again, our wonderful florist took care of the finishing touches and added pretty florals. Mark’s mum made our place settings from pinecones she collected in her garden, which was a really special touch.
