Your South West Wedding - June/July 2026 (Issue 113)

The bride wore Forencia by Mary’s Bridal – a vintagestyle ballgown with some of the volume removed for a more classic fall. “Once I tried it on, I knew it was the perfect fit for the traditional, vintage vibe I was looking for,” Victoria explains. “And I was delighted to discover it had hidden pockets – every woman’s dream!” Gary chose a slim-fit Antique Rogue three-piece suit in navy, which he wore with a light silver tie. His groomsmen were dressed to match with olive green ties to complement the bridesmaids’ attire. “It was very difficult to find bridesmaids’ dresses in the mid- olive green, but this rich olive green went perfectly with the flowers and greenery,” Victoria shares. The highlight of the day for the bride was the canal boat ride after the church ceremony, as well as laying eyes on the blossom-filled Caroline Suite for the first time. “We entered to Lovely Day to be greeted by friends and family as they applauded,” she remembers. We part with some top tips from Victoria: “When picking the finishing touches, we tried to consider what would make our day, and us, happier within our budget, rather than what was expected. So, we decided not to have a long top table as we wanted to be able to chat to our wedding party and children. We also looked at whether it would add to the effect we were looking for, such as investing our funds into garden games and the guitarist to make the day fun and memorable. “I tried to be as organised as possible by having a spreadsheet of suppliers with costs and reminding them the week before so I could resolve any misunderstandings. But if something does go wrong, which some small things are bound to, it’s still a wonderful day.” REAL WEDDINGS 25
