Your East Midlands Wedding - August/September 2020 (Issue 39)

We chose Gilmorton church for our ceremony as it’s beautiful, and we had always said we would get married there. The reception venue took a lot more thought! Winstanley House had been refurbished in September 2017, and when we went to view it and decided it was perfect for our big day. Grey cards were presented on a big mirror for our table plan, which also matched the place names. Glass bowls with Miss Piggy roses, pink lilies and gypsophila were used for centrepieces to match with the bridal bouquet. Jamie and I went to a taster session and chose safe but comforting options for our wedding breakfast. We went with tomato soup, garlic and herb chicken, and apple crumble. When it came to transport, we picked a Beauford Tourer, which had pink and orange ribbons. It turned out to be the same car our friends used for their wedding six months earlier. My friend made our cake; it was a white bake with icing flowers to match the bouquets. 42
