Your East Midlands Wedding - Dec/Jan 2019 (Issue 35)

We used huge copper milk churns at the end of the aisle and my mum cleverly turned a drainpipe into a beautiful copper tray to display stunning flowers along the length of the top table. Tables were named after our favourite hotels and copper mirrors hanging from a tree as the table plan. The centrepieces were copper terrariums filled with flowers while for favours we opted for charity pin badges. We used pine cones decorated with metallic copper paint as place name holders, which added to the rustic feel. Guests were served a range of cocktails and prosecco or could help themselves to our beer barrow. We danced the night away, singing our hearts out and doing the conga around the barns until finally clambering back on the coach to continue the after party at the hotel. I was open-minded and tried on a range of different styles. However, I knew I wanted something quite plain. I fell in love with a classic satin A-line dress; it was simple and elegant with just a bit of quirkiness having pockets and some beading on the back. REAL WEDDINGS 47
