Your Devon and Cornwall Wedding - November/December 2020 (Issue 28)

My bridesmaid Amy and I folded each napkin and tied our handmade place settings to each one with blush pink velvet ribbon. I had seen my make-up artist Emma’s work before I became engaged and always wanted her to be my wedding make-up artist. My hairdresser, Shanna, is a great friend of mine who had us all laughing and enjoying being pampered on the wedding morning. We chose our photographer, Melanie, because we loved her candid style. We wanted photographs in which everyone looked relaxed and natural which we achieved. We were thrilled with the results! Lee was relaxed on the wedding morning and loved having the billiards room at the venue to enjoy with his groomsmen and family who arrived early. We loved the luxurious yet cosy atmosphere at Rockbeare Manor that’s set in beautiful grounds and boasts roaring fires which made us decide on having a winter wedding. Because food was a very important aspect, we loved the menu choices offered at the venue that included some of our favourite dishes which made us extremely happy! Our centrepieces were lanterns sat on sequin table runners that provided the wow-factor. “Lee had asked our best friends to help him choose my engagement ring which makes it even more special. It also meant a lot that he had asked my mum’s permission before proposing. Our families had to keep it all a secret from me for four months!” – Sophie 40
