Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - August/September 2020 (Issue 78)

I wore a strapless sweetheart gown from Sassi Holford with pretty embellished lace. I wanted a Mediterranean look, so I teamed it with a flower crown and a simply full-length veil, which was so delicate it was almost invisible. My dad and I arrived in a white vintage VW Beetle – it went perfectly with the white church. My bridesmaids rode in a vintage orange car to match the colour of the kumquats. I made the table plan myself. Names were displayed in embroidery hoops, which I hung from a brass arch and decorated with florals. I also made the table names and place settings using watercolour paints and gold foil. We opted for a simple three-tier cake finished in white icing, foliage and kumquats. We chose zesty flavours of lemon, lime and coconut alongside orange. Craig’s mum sourced and prepared Scottish tablet in organza bags as a treat for our loved ones. We simply had to go for an Italian theme with our catering. We dined on antipasti with cheese, meats and olives followed by pizza and finished off with Sicilian cannoli and chocolate torte.
