Your Bristol & Somerset Wedding - August/September 2020 (Issue 78)

We got married in Church of All Saints, Selworthy, which is where my parents tied the knot 30 years ago. My 90-year-old granny still attends the church, and it’s such a stunning setting. We chose Porlock Village Hall for our reception, as it has childhood memories for me, it’s full of character and makes a perfect blank canvas. We collected brass knick-knacks, which we found in charity shops, and filled them with simple white blooms and eucalyptus. We also scattered eucalyptus along the middle of the tables. We wanted to incorporate elements of Sicily, Somerset and Scotland in our day. One of our favourite things in Sicily was the fields of orange trees. We chose to use kumquats to represent this in our wedding. The orange citrus fruit went beautifully with simple green leaves and white flowers, giving a fresh Italian feel. 34
