Your Surrey Wedding - June/July 2022 (Issue 95)

We didn’t have any entertainment as such, however, Stanhill Court Hotel provided various outdoor games, which some of our guests partook in after the ceremony. I was very calm and relaxed for the most p art, Philippa Foyle Makeup Artistry and Beckie’s Bridal Hair both commented on how chilled I was, and everyone kept askin g how I was feeling. We had postponed our wedding once due to Covid and with all the uncertainty throughout 2021, it still didn’t feel like we were going to get the wedding we had planned or hoped for. It almost felt that we would have the rug pulled out from under us even up until the last minute, so I think for that reason, as a cop ing mechanism, I always sort of thought it wouldn’t happen! Once the ceremony was over, we were overjoyed and almost felt like a sigh o f relief that it had finally happened after all that planning and worr ying! The groomsmen had navy suits with a subtle check and matching waistcoats from Dickies Suit Hire. Terry stood out as his waistcoat was light grey, and he even had purple socks to match the colour scheme. All of the groomsmen had buttonholes which were white roses with small purple flowers. Stanhill Court Hotel did our catering. The y provided a great selection which catered for all dietary requ irements and was absolutely delicious too. The bridesmaids chose lavender floor-leng th chiffon dresses from Mix Bridal. The bust had lace on it and the bu ttons across the back added a nice bit of detail. My dress was an Allure Bridal design from Aurora Bride. The day I picked it, I had actually booked a follow-up appointment to try on and purchase a different dress , but it just didn’t feel right! The staff let me try on the gown that I’d liked at a previous appointment and it was just perfect! REAL WEDDINGS 51
