Your Surrey Wedding - June/July 2022 (Issue 95)

My bouquet from Sussex Florals was a loo se style, and the bridesmaids’ versions were similar but on a smaller scale. The lavender and the freesias tied in with our c olour scheme, whilst the white, foliages and mint created a subtle c ontrast. I couldn’t decide on my hair accessories, so Sussex Florals crea ted a comb for me to wear which incorporated flowers from my bouq uet, which was just perfect. RuthJoyceArt designed our table plan and welcome sign. She used the same flowers on both and did a free-hand drawing of Stanhill Court Hotel, which she painted in watercolours. We were over the moon with the finished result. Our centrepieces were supplied by Slinkie s Events. We chose a wreath of flowers placed on a mirrored plate with a hurricane vase and candle in the centre of them. We wanted them to be simplistic so that they didn’t distort anyone’s view. They fitted in perfectly and matched so well with the rest of our flowers and décor . For our favours, we purchased pins from five charities close to our hearts. Sadly, we’d lost relatives before the wedding, so we chose the pins to recognise/honour those who were no longer with us. We looked at 21 venues in three weeks, and everyone kept telling me you’ll know it when you see it. Stanhill Court Hotel really stood out to us for so many reasons. It had the grandeur of a manor house but with a personal and private feel to it. It had recently been renovated from top to bottom, and it was a great combination of a traditional setting in a modern style. Jackie, the wedding coordinator, and her team sold it for us too. Jackie was always kind, caring and relaxed. She knew her stuff, was always on top of everything, and nothing was ever any stress. The team were just fantastic and always so attentive. Our cake was a three-tier sponge from Th e Bakery Den. The bottom was chocolate orange, the middle was vanilla, white chocolate and raspberry, and the top tier was coffee. The Bakery Den were incredible! We asked for the icin g to be ombre to match our colour scheme, starting with a darker purple at the bottom and getting lighter towards the top. 50
