Terry loves the program Murder, She Wrote, so before the ceremony, she played the theme tune. Terry knew it straight away and thanked Fiona in his speech for including it. We loved our first dance. Neither of us ha d ever danced before in a ballroom style, so we decided at the very la st minute to have dance lessons. We had an absolutely amazing da nce teacher from All Steps First Dance who came to our house for three lessons across two weeks. We provided her with our first dance song and she choreographed a waltz for us. It was a littl e stressful at first, but it was one of the best experiences and one o f our favourite memories from the day. We hadn’t told any of our fa mily or guests that we were having dance lessons or doing a chor eographed dance, so it was a real surprise for them all! It went pe rfectly, and we were so pleased with it – a few of our guests filmed it, and we love sitting and watching it back. We asked my maid-of-honour, Sally, to do a speech. She didn’t tell me, but she had written a poem about our friendship from when we were younger up until now, how I had me t Terry and how our lives/ relationship had progressed as we had gro wn together and got to where we are now. It was the most touchin g and heartfelt way of doing her speech, and it’s one of my favou rite memories of the day. My dress was so big that all of my bridesmaids had to accompany me everywhere I went. They even had to come with Terry and I to have our couple photos in the grounds. We both remember trying to look lovingly at each other whilst they were cha tting in the background about a goat that was in the field behind u s! 52
