W henever one of our County Wedding Magazines reaches a ten-issue milestone, it’s always a moment to pause and reflect. This edition, we’re delighted to say, “Wow, we’ve hit 80!” It’s a wonderful achievement, and makes us incredibly proud. Of course, not many couples are fortunate enough to celebrate an 80th wedding anniversary, which got me wondering what this remarkable milestone represents. A quick Google search revealed something rather fitting: “The 80th anniversary is symbolised by the oak tree, representing strength, endurance and steadfastness, reflecting a marriage that has weathered all seasons of life.” I’m so pleased I looked it up, because what a beautiful sentiment. Whether you’re celebrating your first anniversary or your eightieth, those qualities are at the very heart of every lasting marriage – and something we can all aspire to. Inside this issue, we’re exploring wonderful wedding venues across north Suffolk, sharing two beautiful real weddings from local couples, and bringing you 17 pages of stunning fashion inspiration for the entire bridal party. Whether you’re newly engaged or counting down the days until “I do”, I hope these pages provide plenty of ideas and inspiration for your own celebration. Happy planning! Indie Bride London finds a new home in Norwich Award-winning bridalwear brand Indie Bride London is embarking on an exciting new chapter, relocating from the capital to the heart of Norwich. Opening its doors on 7th August 2026, the new showroom and studio on Surrey Street promises Norfolk brides a truly personal and creative dress-shopping experience. Founded in 2008 and now led by designer Miina Laitsaari, the boutique has built a reputation for its modern bohemian aesthetic and handcrafted gowns. After taking over the business in 2019, Miina has guided the brand through significant change while remaining committed to sustainable craftsmanship and timeless design. Rather than offering a traditional bridal boutique experience, Indie Bride London allows brides to work directly with the designer who will create their gown. Whether customising an existing design or commissioning a completely bespoke dress, every gown is ethically handcrafted and fitted on-site in the same building, creating a unique connection between bride, maker and garment. The brand also champions sustainability through its innovative The Next Chapter service, enabling brides to transform their wedding dress after the big day so it can continue to be worn and treasured for years to come. Using carefully sourced materials, including Tencel, organic bamboo, ramie, cotton and UK-made lace, every gown reflects the company’s commitment to ethical fashion. Inspired by Norwich’s historic architecture, thriving independent businesses and creative spirit, Miina says the city felt like the perfect place to put down roots after 18 years in London. The new showroom opened on 7th August 2026 at 34 Surrey Street, Norwich; visit to discover the collection and experience a refreshingly personal approach to finding your dream dress. As your wedding celebrant, I promise to create you and your partner a completely bespoke, personalised and one of a kind ceremony that tells your love story, your dreams for your future together and that truly represents you as a couple. Whether you want traditional, modern, fun and funky, whimsical and woo or just beautifully romantic, I can create the perfect ceremony for you. Inclusive, personal and full of heart. You wouldn’t have the same dress as everyone else, so why have the same ceremony? Your ceremony should feel like you. 07712 442461 • luciewelch@outlook.com • @Lucie-the.soulful.celebrant • @Lucie_the.celebrant  Lucie Welch, The Soulful Celebrant, creates and delivers one-of-a-kind, bespoke wedding ceremonies for couples who want something more personal, meaningful and memorable Every couple has a unique story, and Lucie believes their ceremony should reflect exactly that. Whether it’s a romantic celebration, a relaxed family-focused gathering, a quirky themed wedding or something completely outside the traditional mould, she works closely with each couple to create a ceremony that feels authentically theirs. “It is such a privilege to get to know my couples and discover what makes them unique,” says Lucie. “I spend time learning about their journey, their personalities, their values and the moments that have shaped their relationship.” The result is a ceremony filled with genuine warmth, laughter, emotion and heartfelt storytelling – unlike any other wedding guests have experienced. Why choose a celebrant? A celebrant-led ceremony offers complete freedom. Unlike traditional ceremonies, there are no restrictions on location, content or style. Couples can exchange vows in a woodland, a family garden, a historic venue, a festival field or anywhere that holds special meaning for them. More importantly, the ceremony becomes the heart of the wedding day rather than simply the formal part before the celebrations begin. Nearlyweds can include personal vows, meaningful readings, symbolic rituals, family members, children, pets, cultural traditions or anything else that reflects who they are. For many, this flexibility creates an experience that feels genuine, inclusive and completely unique. Rather than following a prescribed format, every element is carefully crafted to celebrate their relationship and the life they are building together. For those who want a wedding that truly reflects their personalities and love story, a celebrant doesn’t simply conduct the ceremony – they create an unforgettable experience that captures the past, celebrates the present and looks forward to the future, leaving both the couple and their guests with memories to treasure for years to come. Courtney and Clara’s love story began in an unexpected place – Tinder during the pandemic. Despite meeting in uncertain times, their relationship quickly blossomed, leading Courtney to propose over the Platinum Jubilee weekend in front of Clara’s family at her grandmother’s home. For their wedding, the couple chose a stunning venue that offered the perfect cosy atmosphere for a winter wedding celebration in December, while providing plenty of space for their family and friends. Inspired by a classic winter white wedding, they opted for an elegant palette of white and gold. The venue’s striking wooden beams became a focal point of the styling, adorned with flowing white drapes that were beautifully highlighted with atmospheric lighting. A talented florist completed the look with elegant centrepieces that perfectly complemented the sophisticated décor. Clara found her dream gown, a Made With Love design from Adella Bridal in Ketteringham and knew it was the one the moment she burst into tears during her fitting. Courtney looked equally stylish in a suit from Pure in Norwich, while the groomsmen wore coordinating tweed-style hired suits from REAL WEDDINGS 23

the same retailer. The bridesmaids added a rich pop of colour in deep red dresses. Guests were treated to a fantastic day of entertainment, beginning with a magician during the canapé reception, followed by singing waiters during the wedding breakfast before everyone danced the night away to a live band. Asked to choose the highlight of their day, the couple’s answer was simple: “Marrying each other will never top that feeling.” Their advice to other couples? “Try not to put so much pressure on yourselves and remember what it’s all about at the end of the day.” 24

A MODERN LOVE STORY Hannah and Tim’s wedding day had a sophisticated black and white colour palette Images courtesy of Chloe Ellis Photography Hannah and Tim first crossed paths on an online dating app, although it took a little while before they finally struck up a conversation and arranged their first date. From that moment on, they haven’t gone a single day without speaking – a slow beginning that quickly grew into something truly lasting. When it came to proposing, Tim had the perfect surprise planned. The couple were in California celebrating his 30th birthday, and Hannah had organised a sunset boat cruise complete with wine and a charcuterie board. Little did she know Tim had a surprise of his own. He proposed during the cruise before they celebrated their engagement in Newport Beach beneath a breathtaking sunset, made even more memorable by a rocket launch lighting up the evening sky. The couple tied the knot on 30th May 2026 at the beautiful Worstead Estate in Norfolk. “We visited several venues, but none gave us the warm feeling that Worstead Estate did,” says Hannah. “It was calm, beautiful and instantly felt like the perfect match for the atmosphere we wanted to create.” With family and friends travelling from across the globe, it was important to find somewhere everyone could relax and enjoy the celebrations together. The estate’s luxurious accommodation made it the ideal choice. Hannah and Tim chose a sophisticated black and white colour palette, creating a wedding that felt effortlessly elegant and timeless. Guests embraced the vision by dressing in black, while a stunning white Lotus Esprit provided a memorable finishing touch that made the day feel uniquely theirs. The styling reflected the couple’s personalities through understated black accents and meaningful personal details. Tim’s love of Oasis inspired playful touches throughout the day, including a tambourine entrance at breakfast inspired by Liam Gallagher’s iconic stage presence and a floating ‘Don’t Look Back in Hunger’ sign. Crisp white roses, floating candles and dramatic black and white draping throughout the venue created a striking yet classic aesthetic. A horseshoe-shaped floral floor arrangement framed the ceremony beautifully, creating a setting that was both elegant and tranquil. Hannah found her dream dress at Pure Brides – a timeless A-line gown that felt perfect from the moment she tried it on. “I knew it was the one straight away after trying so many different styles. It felt instinctively right – classic, elegant and exactly how I’d imagined my wedding dress.” The defining feature was a statement bow added to the back of the gown, which became the inspiration for many of the day’s styling details, including the wedding cake. Tim wore a classic black suit with personalised cufflinks gifted by Hannah, while his groomsmen and both fathers coordinated in matching black suits with elegant white buttonholes. The bridesmaids wore chic black satin dresses, each styling their hair to reflect their own personalities. They carried simple gypsophila bouquets, while matching gypsophila corsages ensured they still looked every inch the bridesmaids after their bouquets had been repurposed as part of the venue décor. Coordinating corsages for both mothers completed the elegant look. Guests enjoyed garden games during the drinks reception before being serenaded by singer Barney Holmes and harpist Zoe Anderton. As evening fell, saxophonist Alex Rimell brought incredible energy to the dancefloor before live band The Elevation kept everyone dancing well into the night. For Hannah and Tim, nothing compared to the ceremony itself. “We were both so nervous, but the moment we were together everything settled. The whole world seemed to go quiet. We forgot about the hundred guests watching and it felt as though it was just the two of us in the room... and our golden retriever Teddy, of course.” In addition, “Being announced as husband and wife brought a joy so pure that neither of us could put it into words. It was simply unforgettable.” The couple’s biggest piece of planning advice is simple but effective. “Choose one non-negotiable each. We decided very early on the one element that mattered most to each of us. I chose the florals, while Tim chose the food and wine. Once our priorities were set, every other decision became so much easier, and the day naturally evolved around what mattered most to us both.” REAL WEDDINGS 29

Featuring a blue and yellow colour palette, this styled shoot gives the ultimate al fresco vibes Images courtesy of Cherrelle Blake Photography PARTY Garden Nicola Raven, Norfolk Bound, shares how this styled shoot came together at Little Massingham Manor. “The inspiration for this shoot came from the estate itself. Little Massingham Manor feels like a place that belongs to a slower, more peaceful world. Surrounded by 63 acres of Norfolk countryside, formal gardens and wildflower meadows, the manor has the rare ability to feel both elegant and wonderfully welcoming. Rather than competing with the setting, we wanted to celebrate its natural beauty. “Our vision was a relaxed garden party wedding – the kind where guests drift effortlessly between a beautiful marquee and the gardens, with the celebration unfolding naturally throughout the day. We wanted it to feel sophisticated yet informal, allowing the surroundings to shine. “The colour palette was inspired by Norfolk in spring, combining soft blues with creamy yellows. Cornflower and forget-me-not tones echoed the skies and wildflowers, while butter and ivory florals complemented the manor’s warm honeycoloured stonework. Everything was designed to feel organic and understated. “The formal gardens provided structure and elegance, while the woodland edges introduced a softer, wilder element. Together they created the perfect balance, showing how weddings here can feel beautifully styled without ever losing their sense of authenticity. “Little Massingham Manor is one of those venues that does so much of the work for you. Its beauty speaks for itself – all we had to do was capture it.” STYLED SHOOT 37

Marriage, Money, Rosanne Godfrey-Lockwood, Family Barrister at 4PB explores Gen Z couples and the rise of prenups As a family barrister, I spend much of my professional life dealing with what happens when relationships break down,” shares Roseanne. “That vantage point inevitably shapes how I think about marriage — not cynically, but realistically. It is perhaps unsurprising, then, that one of the most notable trends I have observed in recent years is the growing interest in prenuptial agreements among Gen Z and younger Millennial couples. “Once regarded as the preserve of celebrities or the very wealthy, prenups are now firmly entering the mainstream. Far from signalling a lack of faith in marriage, this shift reflects a broader generational rethinking of what commitment looks like in a modern world — and, in many cases, a desire to approach marriage with clarity, transparency and mutual respect.” Here, Rosanne tells us more… WHY YOUNGER COUPLES ARE EMBRACING PRENUPS Younger generations are marrying later than their parents and grandparents did. By the time many couples reach the altar, they have already built careers, purchased property, launched businesses or accumulated savings — sometimes alongside student debt or other financial obligations. This means they are no longer starting from a blank slate. In my experience, Gen Z clients are far more comfortable having open conversations about money than previous generations. They have grown up against a backdrop of economic uncertainty, rising living costs and widespread awareness of divorce. Many have witnessed the financial and emotional consequences of relationship breakdowns within their own families. As a result, they are often keen to avoid ambiguity. For these couples, a prenuptial agreement is not about planning for failure; it is about understanding each other fully before marriage. It is a way of setting expectations at a calm, constructive moment — rather than leaving difficult questions to be resolved under pressure at a later date. MARRIAGE AS A DUAL PARTNERSHIP We are seeing a move away from viewing marriage solely through a romantic lens. Younger couples are increasingly viewing the union as a dual-faceted partnership: one that is deeply emotional, yes, but also undeniably financial. In previous generations, marriage often marked the beginning of financial life. Couples started with nothing and built everything together. Today, the timeline has shifted. Younger couples are marrying later, often in their late 20s or early 30s. By the time they reach the altar, they have already established independent financial identities. Couples are understandably eager to protect those identities which they have worked hard to create. and ModernLove “ 42

PRENUPS AS PRACTICAL, PROACTIVE TOOLS When drafted properly, a prenuptial agreement is a flexible and thoughtful document. It can protect assets acquired before the marriage, clarify how future wealth is treated, and set out how financial responsibilities are shared. Importantly, it can also address debt — an issue of particular relevance to younger generations. Crucially, modern prenups are increasingly collaborative rather than adversarial. They encourage full financial disclosure and open dialogue, helping both partners understand where the other is coming from. In that sense, they often function as much as a relationship exercise as a legal one. I often explain to clients that a prenup is akin to an insurance policy or a will: something you hope never to rely upon, but are glad to have in place. It does not predict divorce any more than life insurance predicts tragedy. It simply acknowledges that life is unpredictable. A NEW WAY OF BUILDING WEALTH Another important factor driving this shift is the way younger couples build and manage wealth. Many no longer rely on a single, linear career path. Instead, they may juggle multiple income streams, entrepreneurial ventures or investment portfolios alongside traditional employment. By the time they marry, both partners may have distinct financial identities — and rightly wish to retain a degree of independence within the relationship. Prenuptial agreements can help strike that balance, recognising individual contributions while still committing to a shared future. The nature of wealth itself has changed, and this is perhaps the greatest driver of the “Gen Z Prenup.” Younger professionals are building wealth differently. They aren’t just bringing a savings account and a car to the marriage; they are bringing diverse and complex asset portfolios. In my area of expertise, we often see young couples with: • Established careers: High-earning individuals who have spent a decade climbing the corporate ladder. • Entrepreneurial ventures: Gen Z is the most entrepreneurial generation yet. Many enter marriage owning or part-owning s tart-ups, digital businesses, or scale-ups with significant future growth potential. • Multiple income streams: From side hustles and freelance portfolios to digital assets and cryptocurrency, the modern balance sheet is more «fragmented» than it used to be. • The bank of mum and dad: With the UK housing market as it is, many young couples receive help from parents to secure a first home. A prenup is often a condition of that gift, ensuring that family inheritance or deposits remain protected for future generations. From my perspective, this reflects maturity rather than selfinterest. It allows couples to enter marriage as equals, each bringing something of value to the partnership, rather than assuming an automatic merging of everything without discussion. A SIGN OF CONFIDENCE IN MARRIAGE, NOT DOUBT Perhaps the most important point to make is this: the rise of prenups among Gen Z does not mean younger generations believe less in marriage. They simply understand the financial reality and consequences associated with it. Perhaps the internet, and more specifically, AI has just made it easier to understand those consequences.
