Your East Anglian Wedding - December 2021/January 2022 (Issue 52)

The Boathouse was the perfect choice for us as it’s in a beautiful natural setting by the Ormesby Broad. We’d eaten there before, so we knew the food and service were good and the lovely garden was another attraction. As a blended family of seven, this was the theme for our wedding and the decorations and personal touches, from the flowers to the meal choices, were designed to reflect this I arrived by boat with my bridal party for the ceremony, which added to the excitement. My eldest son Nicholas walked me down the aisle and gave me away. We both felt very joyous that our children played a part in the ceremony and celebrations. My Rhetta dress was covered with frosted lace applique and had a Chantilly lace bodice, crepe skirt and cut-away back. I had my children’s and stepchildren’s names embroidered along the edge of the scalloped train and mine and David’s initials on the lace veil. My bouquet of roses and orchids reflected our combined Singaporean and British cultures. “After the official part, listening to each other’s personal vows for the first time was an unforgettable moment.” – Susan 42
