She fell for his gentlemanly ways and sense of humour and the rest, as they say, is history. He proposed with a gorgeous ring on Christmas morning 2019 before anyone else was up. “It was a beautiful surprise,” recalls Susan. “He had hidden the box under the bed and, not thinking that it was an engagement ring, when I put it on and he told me it was on the wrong finger, I suddenly realised what was happening.” She said ‘yes’, of course, and they tied the knot on 28th August, 2021 at The Boathouse overlooking Ormesby Broad in Norfolk.
