EXPLOSION Colour Tasha and Matt’s vibrant colour palette brought an atmosphere of celebration, love and fun to their wedding day Images courtesy of Gabriela’s Photography and Film Tasha and Matt met while working together at the gym, and their romance eventually led to a dream proposal on a private beach in Bali. With such a memorable engagement, it was only fitting that they wanted a wedding that felt every bit as personal and unforgettable. Winning the use of The Victoria Sheffield in a competition made their dream venue a reality. “I was already in love with it,” Tasha says. “I love the city’s industrial vibe, as well as the vintage feel of The Victoria – the light, the beams, the wood.” The couple describe their theme as “a colour explosion”! The palette included teal, royal blue, bright pink, orange, mustard yellow and purple. “I know it sounds a lot, but paired with the wooden accents and the disco balls, it was perfect,” Tasha explains. The venue was certainly packed with joy and fun as a result. Every detail reflected the couple’s fun-loving personalities. Vibrant flowers brought the scene to life, accented with streamers and disco balls. The bride styled much of the venue herself and also designed the stationery. The handcrafted elements and thoughtful styling ensured guests were surrounded by personal touches from the moment they arrived. She did, however, draft in the services of an illustrator, who drew portraits of each guest for the table plan. As a wedding favour, the couple handed out little thankyou cards featuring the personalised illustrations, which was a sweet touch. Food and, in particular, cake was a huge part of the day. Sharing a hearty feast-style wedding breakfast of roast chicken and potatoes perfectly suited the relaxed, celebratory atmosphere, encouraging guests to chat, laugh and enjoy the occasion together. The late-night pork butties were a welcome treat, fuelling an evening spent on the dance floor. Tasha was a vision in her gown, All Who Wander. “When I first saw the dress, it reminded me of my nan’s tablecloth,” she laughs. “We shared so many memories around her table and the lace reminded me of those times.” Matt wore a blue velvet tux jacket with black skinny trousers. His groomsmen were dressed to match him, except for their shoes, which were in a contrasting colour. The bridesmaids, meanwhile, wore a rainbow of hues to complement the wedding’s palette. The evening’s entertainment sounds like a riot! The couple enlisted the services of a local DJ who packed the dance floor and was popular with everyone. There was also a cake parade (which sounds like our kind of parade)! Tasha and her bridesmaids entertained guests with a rip-roaring tribute to Mamma Mia. For Tasha, the highlight of the day was the ceremony led by their celebrant, with the glorious weather an added bonus. Tasha and Matt certainly created the day of their dreams, reflecting their personalities and crafting an atmosphere of joy and unbridled fun, befitting such a celebration. “Do it all,” the bride recommends. “Do everything you want to do, go all out.
