Your Yorkshire Wedding - March/April 2021 (Issue 47)

The florist managed to get everything together so quickly for us and we were so grateful – at first she didn’t think she could do it! I had a stunning bouquet and we had buttonholes made along with a lovely flower collar for our dog. It was very important to us that she was part of the day. Alex wore a kilt; he’d been meaning to get his own for a while and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. It took him so long to get into it that he was nearly late! I found my dress in Bridal Factory Outlet, Northallerton. I didn’t know what I wanted when I started looking, but after trying lots of different styles I found one that I fell in love with. I teamed it with a veil and my mum’s bracelet. I’m a teacher, and because cover was so stretched at school I didn’t want to take the full day off. My hairdresser managed to fit me in at 7am, I was working by 8.30am and left at lunchtime to get my make-up done. My mum runs a post office and luckily one of her customer’s daughters is a make-up artist and she managed to fit me in! Looking back at the photos, I’m so glad I could get it all done. My great auntie is a registrar, so she was an invaluable source of help. If anything, it all coming together so quickly made it even more special.
