Your West Midlands Wedding - April/May (Issue 79)

Sharelle, our events planner, spent hours putting up different coloured paper lanterns with streamers. They looked amazing an d were really budgetfriendly. We had a neon sign from Vowed and Amazed as a focal point since the room was so big. The Wandering Pizza Co provided the catering. We wanted our guests to have something but nothing too formal. A pizza van seemed like a good option as not many people dislike pizza! They had vegan and gluten-free options too, which was a plus. The cake was made by my friend. We asked her to create something colourful, and she absolutely delivered with a stunning bright pink and orange cake with gold leaf. She added a tiny little dog wearing a flower crown and orange feathers to represent our dog, Merry. She also made a selection of super gooey delicious brownies for our guests. Our flowers were stunning. Jo at The Solihull Florist created a spectacular bouquet with thistles to tie in with our Scottish wedding and a bright orange celosia, a flower I’d never seen before, but it added so much depth to the arrangement. We wanted something bright and spacious that you could add plenty of colour to, and The Old Library was perfect. For centrepieces, we bought some small potted succ ulents and had photos from our wedding dotted around. Sharelle from Apple Tree Weddings & Events worked her socks off decorating the venue, it was beyond wha t I imagined, and I can’t believe what she achieved in a short space of time. 40
