Your Sussex Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 84)

Heather handmade all of the centrepieces over many months. They were: Finding Nemo, Princess and the Frog, Aladdin, Snow White, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, and Up. The Top Table was Beauty and The Beast. To suit the setting, the bouquets included an assortment of wild flowers, with a hint of purple. The groomsmen and I had the same flowers in our buttonholes, and mine had an added sprig of heather. The venue provided all of the catering including a hog roast and mac ‘n’ cheese bar for the evening guests. Heather also purchased some sweets, along with Disney- themed bags as a treat for everyone. As a nod to our Disney theme our white chocolate and raspberry-flavoured sponge cake was baked in the shape of an open story book, with “And they lived happily ever after” written on the pages. For the other tables we had tiers of lemon cupcakes decorated to match their centrepieces. Guests’ names were cut from wood in Disney’s font. They were very popular and everyone took them home as wedding favours. We saw the Campervans at a wedding showcase, and the father-of-the-bride fell in love with them, as did Heather. We hired the second camper to take the bridesmaids and mother-of-the-bride to the venue. They looked every bit the part with their matching Cadbury purple bows. REAL WEDDINGS 55
