Your Sussex Wedding - April/May 2020 (Issue 84)

Blackstock Country Estate is stunning, and the chance to have the Tudor Barn for the ceremony, and the Granary for the reception was the main deciding factor. Having been to an open day, we’d also sampled the food, which was first class and sealed the deal. Heather wore Larissa by Anna Sorano. It was the complete opposite of what she thought she wanted, but after being persuaded to try it on, she instantly fell in love with it. She accessorised with a veil and crystal belt. The ceremony decorations included lanterns, fairylights, ivy, gypsophila, and ivory sashes for the chairs. This continued into the Granary Barn for the wedding breakfast in order to join the two spaces together. I wore a royal blue mohair tailcoat, with a grey and blue tartan waistcoat, ivory ruche, and plain white shirt with cutaway collar. The groomsmen were dressed in the same suits but accessorised with Cadbury purple ties. We purchased a mirror on a buy, sell, swap site, which was exactly what we’d had in mind for our table plan. One of Heather’s friends does calligraphy and offered to hand write the guests’ names on it as a gift. The bridesmaids wore halter neck maxi dresses with corset backs. The tops were ivory, with purple skirts. 54
