Your North West Wedding- December 2020/Janaury 2021 (Issue 65)

The day was made up of so many funny moments. I used my bride status to pet any dog I saw and was caught by our photographer stuffing as much food into my face as possible, which turned into a hilarious photo. I wasn’t nervous about getting married but more about being a good host and making sure the day ran smoothly. My dad coming to pick me up from the hotel room when I was finally ready, and having a little cry meant a lot to me. He’s a typical bloke and doesn’t show his feelings, so it was lovely sharing that moment with him. We had a pub quiz written and presented by two of our friends, and in the evening, we had a band called The Vendettas perform, who got everyone up on the dancefloor. The bridesmaids all wore their preferred style with a common thread of gold, keeping them in theme. The girls have different body shapes, so I didn’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable in a dress they didn’t like. One of my maids, Jas, who lived with us and I’ve known since university gave a lovely speech that had us both a little teary-eyed. Yousiff chose a blue checked waistcoat from Burton that had a gorgeous tropical lining that he flipped inside out for the reception. REAL WEDDINGS 33
