Your North West Wedding- October/November 2020 (Issue 64)

The table plan was a homemade vintage frame with hessian backing. We had a beautiful wisteria tree from Creative Events placed above the ceremony table with candles hanging from it. We fell in love with the Shireburn Arms quite early in our relationship. There’s a walk called The Tolkien Trail that starts at the venue, and we did it as one of our first dates. We’ve been there for food regularly over the years and knew it was the place for us. It has a lovely country feel, which suited our tastes perfectly. Our centrepieces were candlelit bird cages with jars of flowers and fresh greenery. Our favours were handmade chocolate lollies and a token for the free gin bar. For our cake, we chose a three-tier creation from Maria Dobson Cake Design. It had a handmade sugar wreath in the middle and was made up of Victoria sponge, carrot and lemon drizzle. 22
