Your North West Wedding- August/September 2020 (Issue 63)

58 MEET MAXINE MOLIN FROM MAXINE MOLIN HARPIST www.maxinemolin.co.uk What do you offer couples for the big day? I offer various packages ranging from the ceremony, drinks reception and wedding breakfast. What should couples expect when booking your services? A consultation either at my home or online where you’ll choose your music. If I’m not playing during the ceremony, then this isn’t always needed. Many couples look through my playlist and let me know what they would like included. I’m always happy to learn something that’s not in my repertoire as well. How long before the wedding should couples book? As soon as possible! Summer dates fill up quicker, so it’s best to secure the suppliers you really want in order to avoid disappointment. If I can’t do the date, I can always provide another harpist’s details. What’s your favourite wedding you’ve worked at? I don’t have a favourite wedding as such. I love seeing all the different ideas my couples create for their big day. A popular theme at the moment is the vintage look which I particularly like. What are your top tips for brides-to-be? Keep an open mind and think about what works well on the harp. For example, an upbeat/fast tune might not always translate well. The harp is a very versatile instrument, so you might be surprised at what works. MEET ADAM LACEY FROM SINGERS 4 SUPPER – SINGING WAITERS www.singers4supper.co.uk What do you offer couples for the big day? We offer bespoke in meal entertainment. Our singing waiters are a brilliant surprise for your special day. No one would ever expect the venue staff, who have been serving your guests all day to burst into a professional live performance. The music normally consists of sing-along classics to cater for a diverse range of ages and musical tastes. What should couples expect when booking your services? You will meet with a friendly member of our team who will guide you through the process, discussing song choices, singers and how we can make our surprise entrance. At Singers 4 Supper, we only use trained actors who have been in West End shows so their voices are incredible and they have a diverse range. Utilising our years of experience, we know how to get the party going but also deliver the all-important wow factor that guarantees a once in a lifetime memory. How long before the wedding should couples book? We recommend you book our services at least a year in advance, especially if your wedding is on a weekend between July and August as these are our most popular dates. What’s your favourite wedding you’ve worked at? We first started in 2013, since then we have grown into a team of more than 20 singers and have performed at more than 1,000 weddings, so to choose one is extremely hard. We love weddings where everyone gets involved, and we leave knowing we have helped create special memories. What are your top tips for bride-to-be? Make sure that the performers are not only fantastic vocalists but also excellent entertainers with a wealth of experience. Even if they’re great singers, it doesn’t mean they’ll interact with people, and that’s what’s most important! Make sure they have a great cover story. Our performers will interact and create small talk with friends and family making them believe they’re a waiter or guest. We will build up a storyline throughout the day and then at the agreed point turn into singing sensations right under everyone’s noses. www.andrewwoodphotography.co.uk
