FLOWERS 57 MUSIC AND ENTERTAINM NT Get to know local suppliers W hen you’re organising your wedding budget, entertainment is definitely something that’s going to take a large share. Nothing brings people together more than laughter and shared experiences, so it’s essential you hire a supplier who will keep your guests smiling throughout the day. To help inspire you, we’ve rounded up some of the best local suppliers to find out more. MEET ANDREW K IRETON FROM ANDY K WEDDING & EVENTS DJ www.andykdj.com What do you offer couples for the big day? I provide a professional DJ service with three packages to choose from, fixed competitive prices to suit all occasions and no hidden extras. What should couples expect when booking your services? Initially, couples will receive a free consultation service, either by telephone or Zoom to discuss their plans and requirements for the day. I’ll provide assistance and guidance, discuss their music choices and their playlist. There’s a simple booking form with a low deposit, and no further payments will be needed until four weeks before the wedding. Staggered payments are also available if needed. How long before the wedding should couples book? Book early! Many brides and grooms leave their entertainment until last, but it’s a special part of your day that your guests will remember for years to come. Good DJs get booked in advance, so if you have set your sights on someone, book early to avoid disappointment. What’s your favourite wedding you’ve worked at? There are many, but if I had to pick one, it would be a wedding I did at The Wellbeing Farm. It was like something from an Ibiza club night with glow sticks, and the bride and groom were lifted above everyone’s heads and passed around like superstars. What are your top tips for brides-to-be? Get the right DJ for your wedding as this is one part of the day that everyone will remember. Choose a professional, not a family friend or less experienced DJ. A good supplier will listen to your requirements, preferences and choices MEET THE ENTERTAINERS and deliver just what you ordered. Do your research, check out websites, testimonials and their background before booking. Call them, check prices and remember the most expensive doesn’t necessarily mean they’re the best. If you have a set budget, then your DJ should be able to tailor the package to suit your needs. Don’t feel obliged to use your venue’s DJ as part of a package, as they won’t necessarily be any good. If you’re struggling to find a decent supplier, your venue may have a list of recommendations. Check the equipment they use, enquire if they have insurance and the required electrical PAT testing in place, most venues require this, but it’s worth checking beforehand. Make sure you meet your DJ before the wedding to discuss the order-of-the-day and any last-minute changes. Remember, you don’t have to stick with tradition, you could include a groom and mother/step-mother dance as well as the bride and grooms first dance. The options are endless. www.chrismcgloinphotography.com www.chrismcgloinphotography.com
