Abbie and Simone had a laid back celebration at Cote How Lake District Weddings Images courtesy of Tom McNally Weddings S imone and Abbie met at a bar through mutual friends. “We got talking, and things went from there,” says Simone. “We dated for a few months before I finally plucked up the courage to ask her to be my girlfriend. Last Christmas Eve we’d been together for seven years, and they’ve been the happiest years of our lives.” Abbie popped the question during a magical trip to America. “She’d asked my parents for their permission to marry me before we went on holiday to celebrate my 30 th birthday,” shares Simone. “She asked her grandma if she could borrow a ring to propose with and was stressed that she’d lose it. While we were in San Francisco, we went on a bicycle ride and just before we reached the Golden Gate Bridge, there was a secluded spot at the side of the river with beautiful views. We laid down our bikes, and she got down on one knee and proposed! For the rest of the trip, we couldn’t stop smiling.” Here Simone shares some of her favourite moments from their big day...
